Will be back!
First time staying at this resort (have stayed at many other Disney properties) and I’m pretty sure this is my favorite property, now. It’s small and quaint. Food service options are great; make sure you get some beignets at least once! The Coke freestyle machine in the food court is great ( get the refillable mug for $20) , especially you like specialty sodas like Diet Caffeine Free Cherry Coke, Sprite Zero lymonade, or Aha, Powerade, etc…There are lots of tables for indoor or outdoor seating at the food court. The rooms are nice, clean, and very comfortable. We had 2 queen beds in our room. There’s a mini coffee maker and a mini fridge, too. There is only one bus service location; it was less than 5 minutes walk from our building. And bus service was very quick; there’s a screen that shows the estimated arrival of the next bus so you know how long you may need to wait (*you can also find this information on the Disney Parks app under “my resort”). The gift shop on property has a nice selection of Disney gifts, as well as some medicines (Tylenol, Benedryl, etc..) and groceries (bread, milk, donuts, soda, ice cream, etc…). We chose to have housekeeping come every other day (empty garbage, replenish tp, tissue, towels) ; they usually service rooms late afternoon, but, can drop off towels if needed sooner. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool and water slide are great; there’s also a nice kiddie pool adjacent with water features, too. We will definitely be back to this resort.
Family favorite
Normally I like to stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort but my husband made me pick a new hotel for this trip. I must admit this one was a close second fave as a kid and it hasn’t changed. I feel as if the rooms were recently renovated. Everything in the room was great. Beds were super comfy. Bath area provided more privacy than I get at home with 2 small children. Fridge worked as intended. The hotel grounds were immaculate. There were movies being played throughout the week just outside of our door, on the lawn. Pools were just warm enough for the adults and slides were a big hit with the Little’s. Food court had great options. You know the Mickey beignets were hot and delicious. Upon arrival the cast member who checked us in was more helpful than any I’ve ever encountered. The boats to and from Disney Springs were not as wonderful as they have been in the past. We ended up taking the bus back home most nights.
Beautiful Atmosphere!
The Port Orleans French Quarter is a beautiful hotel! We loved our stay here. It truly feels like you are in New Orleans with the beautiful buildings, landscaping, music, and food. The grounds are so amazing with beautiful flowers, huge trees, and these little areas with fountains and benches tucked away on each street. We ate the Float Works many times and took advantage of the $20 refillable mugs, those are a lifesaver especially with kids. We were constantly filling them up, getting water, and our coffee in the morning. We definitely enjoyed the beignets from the lobby on several occasions. The room was perfect, it’s not huge but was so nice to come back to at night. This hotel isn’t the biggest at Disney which makes it nice to walk around and your room is never far, which is especially good when you are tired from a long day in the park. We did do the nightly campfire one night which was fun, would have loved to enjoy the movie night but unfortunately missed it. All of the cast members were super nice! A really great amenity is the boat to Disney springs, such a nice little ride. Overall, I loved it there and would definitely go back!
