Don’t be put off by distance or season
Been home around a week now an thought time to give a review Let’s address the elephant in the room The hotel IS over 2 hours from Enfidhi airport (longer going back as we was first pick up) But what I found was everything was so much cheaper because of it from the hotel to activities an just holiday shopping So have a look at closer hotels for 7 night then this for 10 an you’ll end up paying about the same Now the hotel this place was top notch. Weather in early March was a nice 24 an 10 at night We arrived at 2:15pm walked in our bags were taken in an we was told forget checking in for now get in the restaurant as it closes at 2:30 (which we thought was a really nice touch) Even thou we went 2 months before season this place was spotless, top to bottom. The rooms were nice an spaces (pay that little bit extra an get a sea view it’s worth it) The food was all really good, they always had something potato based alone with a rice an pasta, then 3/4 meat dishes and same on the veg dishes, 3 live stations pizza, grilled fish an a meat (don’t be going looking for nuggets an chips they were both only served once each over the week) I loved the breakfast here (not your full english) But had lots to pick from an 2 live station again one doing crepes an other doing omelettes an fried eggs (if you like the live stations give them a small tip each morning, everyone remembers the waiters never the chef) That brings me onto the waiters Wow some will say it’s because it was out of season an things like this but they all went above an beyond My partner is in a wheelchair an after the second night the waiter mekki had already sorted out a table next to the entrance she could get under and 90% of the time had it reserved for us, an soon as we sat down they remembered our drinks no problem so thank you mekki yes he even sang “hey mekki” lol The hotel is connected to the spar next door an I had a full body massage, I’m not sure what oil she used but my skin still feel good now. I also did quadding organised by what I can only say is Del-boy in a black leather jacket. With it being so off season it was just me an the guide but we did a good 30 kilometres riding through dunes, villages and beach would highly recommend it (I’m not going to put a price on as I paid what I thought was a good price an that’s how I’d say you do it) We can’t go into the entertainment much as I’ve said it was out of season All in all this was a really lovely experience an highly recommend Definitely a very relaxing 4.2 out of 5
Absolutely beautiful hotel, amazing staff, lovely food, wheelchair friendly
As I write this, this is our last night here. We have spent a week at this hotel and what a wonderful experience. I am sad to be leaving. It is a bit of a trek from the airport...around 2 hours but it is worth it. The hotel itself is gorgeous - inside and out. The grounds are well kept and all area's are spotlessly clean. It's a little dated in some area's but other than than - its stunning. Although out of season, we had a lovely time, relaxing by the pool catching some sun. At this time the hotel is just starting to pick up with couples, families and groups checking in. We didn't make use of all the facilities but the spa is lovely with a good range of treatments and very reasonably priced. The heated pool is a must too...take the pool guy a shell from the beach to add to his collection! The staff throughout the hotel have been very welcoming and very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and it's been a pleasure spending time with them. The food has been delicious and has a good choice. Even the pickiest of eaters could find something. The staff in the restaurant are very attentive. Shout out to Mekki, my friend :) and the tall gent in the pin striped suit. (I didnt get your name) but you were both so welcoming throughout our stay. Anything you may need, just ask. It can and will be done. We didn't explore the local area, this was very much just a chill around the pool kinda break but out the back gate, the beach is right there. Beautiful soft sand and lots of little treasures to find. My partner also did a quad ride along the coast and loved it! Talk to the bloke in the leather jacket about excursions or the man at the spa...they will point you in the right direction. This was booked as a little couple's getaway and it didn't disappoint - infact it's somewhere I would love to visit again. In the height of season, this hotel will be buzzing with life.
Amazing Hotel - Recommend 100%
I visited Mahdia Palace last May as a single traveller. From the 1st minute I walked into the hotel I was made welcome. My room was beautiful and clean, the lady that cleaned it did an amazing job and was so friendly, she decorated it every day for me. The food was amazing, so tasty, and something different everyday. As i was alone, the waiters were extremely welcoming and I had my table ready for me with my drinks and a little treat at every meal. The bar staff were very friendly and always had my drink ready for me as I walked up to the bar. I liked the fact there was a smoking and a non-smoking area. The pool and beach were immaculate and so beautiful. I felt very safe on the beach as there was security, and the beach sellers werent allowed to come any closer than the shore line. I liked this hotel so much that I've just booked a 12 night trip in May and persuaded my brother to come with me. I just hoping to get a pool and sea view room, or a full sea view room :-)
