Wonderful stay in a great location
Gone are the days when hotels next to rail stations were the lowest rated. We were grateful to be close to the station in Strasbourg because of the intense heat and grateful on Boxing day because of the cold. It's unseasonably milder in Stockholm the bonkers weather is an endless source of climate change conversation. We’re greeted by a sizeable minimalist reception area that befits Sweden along with a few what we may call nostalgically parlour games, none of which I recognised but made me intrigued nonetheless. Hotel C is modern and there’s even a little shop of Swedish goodies including the addictive Happy Socks and plenty of space to lounge. A warm welcome greets us along with a notice in the lift indicating they are selling Christmas tree decorations to raise funds for a shelter - something they do each year. We vowed to buy one and so we did upon checkout. There is a simple key-coded room to store luggage after checkout so no waiting around while your Uber is waiting outside to take you to the airport. Breakfast is in a lounge on the other side past the lifts. It has ample room and loads of hot and cold choices. Our room looks out to the street we’ve just come up from and includes a little armchair and table, a desk/dressing table and chair, bedside tables and the all Europen two separate duvets. It lacks a proper wardrobe and has a tiny built-in cupboard whereby a small wardrobe would have easily fitted in. It does have rarely seen coat hooks by the front door although there are no drawers or anywhere to place underwear. The bathroom has the pricey Malin + Goetz toiletries that we first saw in Whistler fixed to the walls and good bathtub and acceptable towels placed on a heated towel rail, tissues and a spare loo roll. The lights are in all the right places and the room has plenty of power sockets. Since Vancouver, where we found a plug-in multi-use adaptor, I’m less bothered about USB points and we set out to find the same for Europe. Of course, we found one after a good search in the city centre IKEA. A good stay for a couple of nights.
Very good
We were there for new years eve, amazing, easy, near by the central station, fabolous. Breaksfast also very good level and quaility, good amount of different kind of food. The room is small but cozy and it was what we need. Maybe the bed might be small but for two is good.
tiny room and chaotic breakfast
Tiny and cramped bedroom ,no room to swing a cat ,tiny wardrobes and only one side of the bed had a table . Shower hot . Breakfast was chaotic , after you found a table , then you fought through people wandering about looking for food at various station areas . Boiled eggs cold . Coffee lukewarm . Bar closed 10.30 Sunday night so we couldn’t get a drink pre bed , nightcap was needed as it was so cold . Best thing about hotel , proximity to Arlanda express / airport .
