Amazing hotel.
Stayed for 3 nights during half term with my husband and 2 sons age 14 & 11. Booked the family interconnecting rooms. Our room was very spacious, modern and extremely clean. Was also blown away by the size of the bathroom which was fully kitted out with toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. The kid’s bedroom was also a great size with their own bathroom. We chose this hotel as it was in walking distance of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The hotel was amazing. Only used the restaurant for breakfast which was plentiful and the lobby cafe. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.
Excellent Hotel - Excellent Service
I travel around Europe at least 10 times a year for the last 15 years, staying only in 4 and 5 stars hotels. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. I keep coming every year for Christmas Vacations and I will continue to be coming! Hotel is near the biggest El Corte Ingles store for those interested in shopping and getting real bargains in the sales. Rooms are spacious with Ritual amenities at the Level floor. Breakfast is excellent both at the Level but also at the ground floor with variety of cold and hot dishes of the highest quality. Rooms at the level are the best but I stayed in the past in the normal rooms and those are also spacious and comfortable. The Level Open Bar great as well. So overall a great stay at the hotel, it feels like a second home as we keep coming back every year and we get to know the people who work there. Philippos P
A fantastic hotel - but away from the city center
This was my first time to Madrid and to the Melia Hotels group. I stayed in one of the standard rooms and paid for breakfast. Rooms The rooms are very spacious and appointed to a very standard. They were also very clean and felt quite luxurious. The en-suite was also equally very good, with an excellent walk-in shower, a large sink and toiletries to match - There was no bathtub (which was not an issue).. The room had a wonderfully large and luxurious bed and I enjoyed a great night's sleep. There were four pillows provided, all of which were very plush and comfy! There was a large flatscreen TV in the room mounted on the wall but very few channels. The wake up call feature could be set on the TV which was very handy - but make sure that the time on the TV is set correctly or you may have a rude awakening at an odd hour(!) The room also had some nice touches such as cube shaped bedside lamps which were attached to the wall. There was also a stylish desk. There was also complimentary Wi-Fi. The only one slight negative was that the A/C was brutal! Thankfully the room had a large window which I could open and get some natural air into the room (before turning down the A/C) - all in all however this was a very good room. Service My stay at the hotel was quite short but in this short period of time the hotel staff that I interacted with were all very courteous and helpful. The main reception desk staff were very pleasant and professional. One thing to note was that there was an omelette station at breakfast but the chef barely spoke English. Even though there was a language barrier between the two of us, he was very patient and made me an omelette as I had requested, taking time to understand the fillings I wanted and did not want. Breakfast The majority of the items were cold however there was an omelette station and the quality and taste of the omelette was great! There were a selection of pastries, cheeses, breads, fresh fruit and more all of which were very good. There was a good choice for vegetarians and the live omelette station was a nice touch. A better hot food offering would be an excellent addition to the breakfast and should be something the hotel offers. Location The location is not great. It is quite a way away from the Madrid city center and much of the famous attractions Madrid has to offer such as the Retiro Park. A slight consolation is that it is a block or so away from the Bernabeu!! Dinner I had dinner at the hotel as there were very limited options outside (due to the location). I had an aubergine crisp starter and a pizza, both dishes were cooked very well and tasty. The menu unfortunately was very limited and there were but one or two options for vegetarians. It was quite evident that if some stayed for three or more days then they may have to repeat the options - this would definitely be the case if you are vegetarian. Overall This is a very good hotel, with pleasant staff and a wonderfully appointed room. The limited food options at breakfast and dinner is a room for improvement here, especially as the location of the hotel isn’t great. This is a solid 4 out of 5 hotel and definitely one I would recommend.
