Hotel Best Negresco is a family-friendly hotel in the bustling town of Cap Salou on the north east coast of Spain. The hotel has a modern look, with brightly decorated interiors and pops of colour in the architecture. You can enjoy views across the mountainous coastline and natural scenery from the hotel terrace. Playa Llarga is steps from the hotel. Salou's main centre is a short drive away, with many shops, bars and restaurants to visit, as well as popular attractions including adventure parks and ancient ruins. There are two outdoor pools, as well as an indoor pool. Younger ones can make the most of the separate outdoor kids' pool during the day. If you like to keep fit on holiday, you can join the aerobics and aqua aerobics classes which are regularly run by Hotel Best Negresco, or head to the gym for a cardio session or two. The hotel also has a spa where you can relax, with a range of massages and beauty treatments available, including manicures. There are two international buffet restaurants and two bars where you can enjoy meals and drinks throughout the day. The hotel also puts on regular entertainment, which usually includes a range of live shows.
Playa Llarga is 200m from the hotel, where you can relax under the palm trees with a refreshing drink. If you need to pick up travel items during your stay, there's a supermarket 500m away. Lumine Golf Club is 1.5km from Best Negresco if you fancy a few rounds on the green with friends. The main centre of Salou is 3km away, where a number of bars and restaurants serve traditional food, with some playing live music in the evenings. Market stalls around the town sell a variety of handmade gifts and souvenirs.
You can enjoy a variety of drinks from the two bars, with one by the pool which is open during the day. The two buffet restaurants offer a selection of local and international food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a late breakfast option also available. There are regular theme nights held at both restaurants.
The hotel runs a kids' club during high season, which usually includes a range of fun games and activities, and a children's' disco.
All rooms have air conditioning, Wi-Fi access and a TV. You'll also have a balcony or terrace, a safe and a small fridge.

3* MAX
Great holiday, but fairly disappointing hotel - 5* views, but 3* hotel (max). Where do I start? Firstly, I’ll start with the pro’s of this hotel: Great views, and stunning scenery. Amazing beach location (only a five minute walk away) Incredible breakfast - 10/10 cannot fault. Modern room, spacious, and a great side sea view. Nice pool, and modern sun loungers. Great beer on tap - it’s Estella. Also extra named beer bottles are offered at €1 each - which we did take advantage of (Corona, Bud, and Heineken). Now, the con’s: - Staff clearly did not care, and were so, so rude. I can clearly see why they acted like this, due to it nearing the end of the season, BUT whether this is the case or not a 4* standard should be maintained, as advertised on JET2. This is obviously due to a lack of strength within management. There were multiple occasions where I myself experienced rudeness from staff - firstly within the restaurant (which was clearly overcrowded) we had to wait 30 mins for a bottle of cava. Thus being due to the laziness of the staff, and passing the request from colleague to colleague - so in the end I went and got it myself. Secondly, at the bar - I was told that I could not order a drink - evidentially because the staff member could not be bothered to pour it. - Food in the evening was not brilliant, so ended up eating out a few times over the course of the holiday. - Plates in the restaurant were dirty and covered in morsels of dried food. - Wires hanging out in the inside of the lift, which is clearly a risk. - Additional charge for cocktails - quite disappointing as other 4* hotels I’ve been to, they have been included. - When we arrived, there was a strong sewage smell in the room - this lasted 2 days before someone finally did something about it. - The worst part of this holiday was finding out that the spa had burnt down two days before we arrived - and no fire alarms went off, and staff did not seem to care. ABSOLUTELY DANGEROUS, let’s alone disgraceful. This is definitely not a 4* hotel, after staying in Corfu in May 2023 at a 4* hotel - the level of facilities, and standards between the two is large. I’m not normally one to write bad reviews, I try to find the positives in everything - but unfortunately I was majorly disappointed with this hotel, after reading the impeccable reviews from July and August 2023. Honestly, this hotel has so much potential to be something great - especially with the location of it. After going on a trip, even the travel guide said it’s the hotel to be in within Salou - and when we told them our experience they were very surprised on how standards had dropped within a short space of time. Overall, it was an enjoyable holiday - the area is stunning. If the hotel was to improve, I would like to stay here again, as said above it honestly does have so much potential, but it is the staff that are a let down :(
Won’t return, worst hotel I’ve stayed in
Staff were so unfriendly, unpleasant and very ignorant, especially 4 staff members in particular. From working in a hospitality sector myself it was a disgrace to see how they treat their guests. Muttering to eachother under their breath and then turning round to look at you and laugh. Very unprofessional. Should be ashamed. As for the food, asked for an allergy sheet or information as 2 members of the party had severe allergies. Waited all night for this. No allergy information on the food labels, some didn’t even have labels! 3 times the soup was ‘cream of vegetable’ yet was different colours each time, very strange. Food was cold and unpleasant. Had beef stir fry one night and the beef was actually raw. Not rare but raw. Some yoghurts out of date. Had to wait every night for a table considering there was only 5 of us. When sat at the table, cutlery wasn’t even clean. Asked a waitress to get us a clean fork as the one we had, had food residue left on it. Waitress removed said food with her finger nail and placed it back in front of us. Disgusting. All in all, holiday was a disappointment. Definitely wouldn’t return or recommend.
Holiday nightmare
On arriving at the hotel our room was not ready and had to wait one and half hours until it was. The restaurant was busy and trying to find a table was difficult and trying to find a clean plate was even more difficult and also had to wait ages to get served for a drink. Some of the food ie yoghurts were out of date the majority of was cold. The pool area was vey crowded drinks that were included in the all inclusive were frequently unavailable or the bottles turned around or hidden under the counter. While there we had a fire in the spa so we evacuated to the outside during a major thunderstorm and during the incident the lifts we still working someone had actually set of the alarm off but it did activate so most people got banged on the doors us included. As the incident progressed a member of staff told us there was no fire and told us to go back to our rooms while most or the reception area was thick with smoke and firemen running around in breathing apparatus and dragging hoses with them. The following day there was no jet2 rep about or any communication from the hotel about the previous nights incident and after my wife found it difficult to sleep for the remainder of our holiday.
