Staff from hell
What more can I say than a solid 3/10 stay. We booked the Pierre and Vacances village Terrazas costa del Sol as part of a package holidays and from the photos we were looking forward to our stay. The separate parts of the holiday, such as the transfer, was so lovely we expected the same standard for the rest of the holiday. However from the minute we stepped into the reception we were met with rude staff. The original staff member who served us when we arrived in the early hours of the morning was nothing but rude, she met us with hostile language and gave far from a warm welcome. When we were met with an unknown deposit sprung on us, which wasn’t disclosed, we were very confused and wanted to ask questions, the lady behind the counter looked and spoke to us if we were dirt on the bottom of her shoe and was no help directing us to our apartment. The apartment itself had potential, it was enough for 4 girls, but emphasis on the 4 girls who they knew were staying, yet no efforts were made to one, make up the sofa beds, but even at the least leave enough spare sheets. The sheets we did have were disgusting. They seemingly had bite mark looking holes in them and the curtains were covered in filthy hand marks, yet we’re were told the cleanliness of the apartment was a big determination of our deposit retuning to us or not. The hotel facilities I can imagine to be perfect for a busy summer, we picked to go out of season and were still impressed enough with the pool and the little facilities we had access to. For a hotel which is in the middle of no where, it wasn’t advertised anywhere that the restaurant would be closed, thankfully there was enough choice to eat from the bar menu. The bar staff is a whole other story, from the first day we were met by the rudest member of staff, all we were met with was hostility and we were refused services other guests were getting, it seemed if she couldn’t be arsed to make a cocktail she would simply look at us and say ‘ No’ and serve someone else that same drink. This shocked us as, we know as four young girls sometimes we can get pre consumptions about our behaviour, yet we had been sitting around the pool and keeping ourselves to ourselves and we’re still met with the most disgusting treatment. All in all would not return with the current situation of staff and how the place needs a lot of love. The hotel itself had so much potential but the staff need a serious attitude check as they ruined our stay and belittled us throughout.
Not bad
Check in was really easy and fairly quick, but trying to find our apartment was slightly tricky! Once found though it wasn't to bad, basic but clean, kitchen needs upgrading as in the cupboard doors are rotting, couple of ants in the drawer but soon got rid of and they didn't come back. There was a tear in the bed sheet and what looked like a blood stain on the spare duvet. I would have uploaded the photo but it has not saved.... The grounds need more maintenance, the walkways have lifted and the ground was breaking up, I did trip up but luckily stayed on my feet, (I need to use a walking stick so not ideal), you need a torch at night as the lighting is not the greatest. We did not use the pool so cannot comment on that but we did walk around the complex and there are two pools which looked clean, we sampled the poolside bar and bar food and again not bad, not brilliant but ok. They do allow pets and the apartment above ours decided to bring 3 dogs which barked everytime someone walked past or they saw another dog, personally I don't think they should be allowed but other travellers might not be bothered. Having to pay for parking is a stretch too far really, 5 euros per day or 7 euros per day if you want to park underground, you can park on the street which we did. You definitely need a car as the nearest place is about 10 mins drive away, the place is quite tricky to find and you definitely need a satnav. Also the agents do not mention when booking that you need to leave a 200 euro deposit on arrival, we booked with On The Beach. If you like fish and chips then you have to go to Skippers in Sabinilla, tapas, can recommend La Casita in the same place and for evening meals too, Estapona is a beautiful place too. We stayed from the 17th to the 24th Sept 2022
Choose somewhere else
Unless you rent a car you’re stuck there, food is repetitive and not the best, not worth the money. ‘Mini market’ was rubbish, people fighting for sunbeds, I went with 7 kids and 7 days was way too long, dissatisfied, wouldn’t recommend
