Great Value
Stayed here on a 4 night package. Its an older building renovated to a decent standard, and its very clean, rooms have air con, great shower and comfy beds. Kitchen equipment is limited, but we ate out so not a problem for us. Staff were friendly and efficient, we asked for extra pillows and an iron, both were provided immediately. Pool area is small and sunbeds are limited, so fine if you are an early bird! Location is good, a supermarket is close by for essentials, beach is 5 minutes away and old town also a 5/10 minute walk. Bus station also 10 minutes away. Overall I think the Veramar is good value for money if you are looking for a no frills apartment close to amenities.
Good hotel, clean. Good location.
So booked this hotel for 4 nights, after reading reviews. Pleased to say, hotel was very clean, pool was great EXCEPT it does not open until 10:30 am, also unlike most other hotels they do not have pool / beach towels to hire / use. £6 euro taxi into town, bus stop outside and a massive shopping centre 4 mins walk. Got indoor pool / jacuzzi. Check in from 12 check out 12. £3 euro a day safe hire plus £10 euro deposit. Air con in rooms. Defo would stay again. £300 euro for 4 nights room only. Pool bar good. Massage by pool very good. Staff helpful, lifeguards on duty, pool was not freezing but woke you up when getting in. Think that’s about it.
May bank holiday
We stayed at the Aparthotel Veramar during the early May bank holiday weekend and had an enjoyable stay. We chose the hotel based on a family member’s recommendation following their stay in January 2022. Check in was smooth and didn’t take long, all the reception team were very helpful and spoke excellent English. The room was commodious and had plenty of sockets, storage and mirrors etc. The wi-fi connection was excellent and the air-con worked well and wasn’t noisy. The shower pressure and temperature were both spot on. There was a safe in the closet but it didn’t come as part of the room package, it cost €2 per night. A hairdryer was provided in the bathroom. Although an iron wasn’t provided in the room, the reception team arranged for one to be sent up. For the 3 nights we stayed the room was serviced once. One of the negatives about the room is that it faced an apartment block, so there was very little privacy and you felt like you were being watched. Our family member was on floor 2 during their stay and they said the same thing. During our stay the weather was glorious and reached high 70s. We were out and about most mornings about 8ish (to go for some breakfast at the Caribbean mermaid down by the harbour) and just popped our heads out in the pool area only to see that all of the sunbeds had already been reserved. We ended down the beach and rented one of the sunbeds for €6. The pool area looks really nice, just a shame you have to be up with the larks to access the sunbeds. Our relative mentioned the skybar on level 10 (it was closed whilst they were there in Jan) and thankfully it was open during our stay. We ventured up there a few nights and the views from the roof top were magnificent. The prices weren’t that bad and a pint and a glass of rose were about £5. Overall the hotel acted as a good base during our early May bank holiday break and were pleased our relative recommended it.
