This attractive hotel is situated in the area around Axarquia between the towns of Frigiliana and Nerja. This hotel is located at the heart of a natural area, approximately 1.5 km from the town centre. There are a profusion of shopping facilities as well as pleasant beaches to be found just a short distance from the hotel.Built in 2002, this hotel offers a total of 22 rooms spread over 3 floors including 1 single room, 20 double rooms and 1 suite. The hotel has a 24-hour reception desk with a safe, a currency exchange facility, a lift and a café. Additional facilities include a bar, a pub, a TV room and an air-conditioned à la carte restaurant with a separate non-smoking area and highchairs for infants. In addition, there is a conference room available for functions, a public Internet terminal, room, laundry and medical services, a bicycle storage facility, car parking and a garage available for use by hotel guests.The comfortable rooms come with an en suite bathroom, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a hi-fi stereo system, a minibar, a fridge, a double bed, central heating and a safe.Guests may make use of the hotel's indoor swimming pool, pool, sun loungers, parasols, steam baths, a solarium and massage service. A really Authentic Spanish treat

We stayed at Hotel Rural Almazara as our friend was getting married locally. This was the nearest hotel within walking distance to the wedding venue. Our experience is 5 star however I would suggest this is a 3 star hotel - just so you’re not confused- we loved it! We’re so used to 4/5 star all inclusive holidays but this is very Spanish and authentic, a great experience was had by all. The hotel is clean, our rooms were well looked after, stocked minibar, comfy beds with extra pillows and it had air conditioning. The hotel is very eco conscientious and uses biodegradable tissues, with a gentle reminder to only ask for another towel when needed. Less waste. Breakfast is simple but ideal. We made ham and cheese croissants, ate toast, fresh fruit, the coffee is velvety and smooth. Dinner is excellent value, €19 for three courses. The food was delicious and we ate every last bit! Staff, they’re attentive, very caring and even helped us learn a little more Spanish. Miguel is hilarious, we first met him at reception and then again at breakfast, he made our stay really enjoyable. If you want to stay in a local Spanish hotel then I’d recommended staying here, however it maybe best to hire a car as the transfer from Malaga airport cost us €90!

Cheap and cheerful

We booked this hotel via Groupon and the price was cheap. As it’s out of town, I contacted them and reserved a table for the four of us that evening. When we arrived we spotted a sign saying the restaurant was closed so I discovered when we checked in. Yes it was closed!! No apology or explanation offered! After we went to our room I returned to reception to order drinks for the room. Upon returning to our room I received a call saying our drinks were waiting at reception! So I went and collected them. The white wine was undrinkable. The jacuzzi experience was very disappointing as the room is dark and dingy and smelt unpleasant. The room itself was ok mainly thanks to the terrace with with a nice view. Breakfast was ok, though the orange juice was from a can and the coffee not great.

Lovely little place

We stayed over Christmas and on first arriving we found a little difficult to find , specially in the dark. The first thing noticed on arriving at hotel is how dark the room was and the hotel felt cold, nothing that heating in room didn’t cure. Pros of hotel;- Very quaint Quiet location Spotless Friendly, Esp Miguel Lovely restaurant and good food Comfy beds Lovely balconies and views to mountains and sea Pool area looks nice but to cool to try Cons:- Indoor pool size and charge Bit chilly on a cool day No in room tea coffee making facilities Car recommend Very dark rooms All in all a lovely stay, and we’ve had beautiful weather everyday bar one. Most days spent a lot of time on beach which was great. Just what I needed after a year nearly of cancer treatment xx Thanks to everyone for a fabulous Christmas xxxx
