Family holiday of 6.
Mixed review. The hotel is lovely, clean and spacious. Rooms cleaned daily, basic but good for what we needed. Pools are good, clean and have life guards however they spend a lot of time chatting and on their phones. The floors are very slippy around the pool so make sure you have a good grip on your shoes or you’ll be on your backside! Kids pool is knee deep for me so our baby couldn’t sit in it however there is a walk in pool so we sat there and he loved it. The splash pools also the same depth so children steady on their feet are loving life. Small slides and big slides so a good age range. The hotel is fully set up for the Spanish so food times are later. Staff are friendly but always serve the Spanish first and the Spanish don’t line up orderly like us brits. So expect a stampede in the food hall unless you get there the second it opens it’s very very busy. All inclusive doesn’t mean there isn’t a supplement for some things like coffee and some ice creams. The pool bar/ hut closes for about 3 hours midday! So if you want a drink you have to leave the pool area and head to the cafe. Not ideal if you’ve got small kids but it’s not far away just more inconvenient. If you’ve got mobility issues you might struggle as there’s lots of small ramps and steps. Some lifts, but far apart and occasionally they are out of order. Also the bath is smooth so slippery. Apartments are on three floors and we have a double pushchair. Although we requested a ground floor we didn’t get one and there’s only stairs to our room. This did my head in as we have 4 children so it became a hassle from day one carrying a double pushchair up and down the stairs a few times a day. The beach is clean but not sandy it’s more stones.
Best Animation Team Ever :)
Best Animation Team Ever. Especially Laura from Slovakia. Thematic program every evening. Hotel clean. Food excellent. Childs’ pool very nice. Swimming pool also fine. The beach right in front of the hotel. Staff in the hotel are very helpful. If you are looking for family holiday with small children, this is the best choice.
Very well run complex, great location and lovely resort
We really enjoyed our stay. Apartment was quite basic, but plenty of room for 4 of us in a 2bed apartment. Air con is in living room only but cools bedrooms ok if doors left open. There were mostly Spanish guests and our Spanish was poor. Staff lovely. We asked for a sea view with not too many steps, and that’s what we got. Lovely restaurants nearby. We loved Canella Mexican, and Hong Kong. Antonellas good too with lovely location over looking the sea. We didn’t get a bad meal in the full holiday. A bus runs along the coast and goes to Mojacar Pueblo. This is a lovely town and well worth a visit. The bus also goes to the shopping centre, which was quite disappointing with a good supermarket but not much else. The beach is pebbly but water very refreshing and clear. Swimming was lovely but rubber shoes recommended. They sell them in all the shops Pools in apartment complex were really good. No seat reservation was allowed so you can always get seats. Entertainment on the plaza at night was in Spanish (to be expected) so a bit mystifying. But lots of kids running around having a great time. Ours are teenagers and we played pool or stayed out at one of the restaurants. Supermarket on complex was same price as everywhere else and stocked the necessities There is a shuttle bus service to and from Almeria airport. Exclusive Airport Shuttles, and fare is approx eu20 one way per person The only downside was the heat. But this is to be expected in July and August. Apartment complex also has Wi-Fi only in the plaza and reception. We didn’t miss it when we got used to not having it, but if this is important you might need to arrange a hotspot. We were happy to sit in the plaza for a while daily to catchup. All in all we had a great holiday
