Love this hotel!
Just returned from a 4 night half board stay at Luna Club hotel. Such a peaceful haven in Margrat de Mar but just a 5 minute walk to the shops & beach. Excellent choice of buffet at breakfast & dinner including a ‘vegetarian corner’ although this will sometimes include fish so be careful if you are strictly vegetarian. Friendly & helpful staff. The rooms are spacious & have a balcony & plenty of toiletries supplied. There is no kettle though but not a problem if you’re heading to breakfast first thing. A highlight for me & main reason for my return to this hotel were the daily yoga classes. At least two a day & a sound bath session in the evening which was amazing. The yoga teachers Beatrice & Patricia were great & made everyone so welcome. The pool areas are lovely & well kept with a serene vibe especially the adult only pool if you want to truly relax. The water is cold at this time of year but still worth a dip. I will definitely return to this hotel, it has everything you need for a relaxing break. Just one thing to remember next time.. insect repellent!
Our mini break!
When reading the reviews for this place I didn’t expect much But it was such a lovely mini break! We stayed all inclusive but should’ve done bed and breakfast as the food wasn’t amazing but there were bars and restaurants nearby with reasonable prices. Pepe Polo only a 2-3 minute walk away was fantastic! Staff were helpful and friendly We visited Calella which was beautiful for the day with loads of beach bars to dine and drink at. Barcelona is around an hour away. The train is really easy to navigate too We used the spa which was lovely The out door pools are cold I would recommend that if you book through last minute that you don’t get the airport transfer as it is the last and first stop We would definitely come back!
Ten days of sunshine and lovely food
We had a nice package holiday with TUI - flights, hotel, hotel transfers and half board for ten days, which was really good value for money. We landed at Girona airport, were directed to our coach, checked in to the hotel and started exploring! Our hotel room had a lovely view of the pool from our balcony. The room had sliding doors to the balcony where you can sit, relax and listen to music. There was a live performance one night and the singer sang pieces that take you back to good times. Our mattress was quite firm, and the aircondition was lovely. You can adjust the temperature to suit you. There is no instruction to manipulate the dial - we kind of worked it out ourselves. You have to turn it right and then left to hear a click, and the aircon comes on. Then adjust the temperature. We kept it at about 18 degrees, which was lovely. However, once you open the sliding doors to sit outside on the balcony, the aircon will auto shut off & you have to manually turn it on again when you come back inside. There is no fridge for those who like to keep cold water or other drinks and there is no kettle. We did ask for one but they don't supply this. So don't bring your tea bags & coffee to avoid disappointment. There is also no complimentary water bottle - we weren't expecting this but just to remind people to bring or purchase one if they want to stay hydrated. If you forget basic toiletries, sun lotion, after-sun, shampoo, toothpaste, soap or shower gels, don't worry. There are plenty of shops nearby! There is also a huge Carrefour within walking distance from the hotel for all your needs - even basic t-shirts and sportswear. In the restaurant, you can tell they do have themed nights. During our stay, we had Mexican, American (burgers & fries), and Spanish cuisine like paella. There was a section for vegetarians and a grilling station for grilled meats in the evening. During breakfast on Sundays, they served cava, a bit fancy. Lots of salads, pasta, fruits, fish and meat. Bottomless tea & coffees and squash for breakfast. For dinner you have to purchase your drinks, be it water, wine, beer or soft drinks. Special shoutout to Rosie & Fatu. Their warm, welcoming smile despite their busy workload was a lovely addition that made our stay worthwhile. We looked forward to exchanging greetings every time we saw them. The rest of the staff like housekeeping, and those that manned the restaurant, bar and reception were very accommodating and effcient. The hotel was in close proximity to shops, bars/pubs and local restaurants. The train stations were not far either. It took about 20 minutes to walk from our hotel to the train station. The ticket machines were easy to operate, but there is a booth manned by staff, who will also explain and signpost you to the correct train. We enjoyed walking around La Rambla until after 10 pm, and almost got stuck in Mataro'! Good thing we had a few euro coins and notes to purchase tickets on the night bus. The drivers are strict and you must wear a mask, otherwise, you will not be permitted to board. If you sample cuisine where all the locals go, be prepared to pay cash as well. Some places expect cash and do not accept card payments. If you ever fancy visiting Malgrat de Mar, I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back with friends and family in the near future.
