GONE DOWN HILL SHOULD BE 3*** NOT A 4****

I went to the Royal Star in Lloret de Mar. This hotel is a 4 star however on my findings it should be down graded to a 3 star, mouldy peaches, the chicken skewers that i had was very gristly and disgusting dust in room, entertainment was like watching a circus act. There was a lad just hitting a balloon around the room acting daft. Then he did a cart wheel. Alot of nights the entertainment staff would just come and put music on. For a 4 star hotel i would expect greater entertainment especially paying that kind of money. The bar then closes at 11pm yes i totally get that for alcohol but you should still be able to get soft drinks. Ive been going to the same hotel for 5 years but this year i was very disappointed. The bedrooms are still out dated and not modernised. Our beds had NO clean sheets put on them for at least 8 days until i started complaining about them. Please take my advise on this hotel. It has gone down hill, should be a 3 star and NOT a 4 star. On the plus side charles the restaurant manager was nice and he organised cakes and a bottle of wine to be delivered to our hotel room for my wifes birthday. 5th sept 21 - 15th sept 21

First let's go through the negatives. Rock hard beds and woman staff in Restaurant was definitely former Nazi. Positives. Decent size rooms, lovely breakfast buffet( we only went bnb) 2 pools small but not overcrowded, good location just outside main part of Lloret and 5 minues from beach. Plenty of family entertainment if required and a decent bar. All in all quite happy with this place.

Terrible, to avoid, never come back even if I am paid for it

Worst Hotel I have ever seen The most disapointed point it was that in all the website, in all booking process in any case they told you that the Spa is closed...The Hotel name's Royal Spa, isn't it? And they blame the government restrictions, false! As there are Hotels with Spa opened now. They could at least warn the clients about it. The room is okay for a 2 stars Hotel, I know this is Lloret de Mar and not Begur or Cotê Azur, right, but it is the first time I found a room without refrigerator, you should pay 3€/day for it, uncomfortable bed, and the air aconditioning is not working at all and you have a great view... at the cemetery, not free Wifi neither. The breakfast is fully booked and you can't go to breakfast, but maybe better not to go, if they take care of the food as the same way as they do with the Hotel. Some hotels compensate its lack of quality with a good and charming staff, definitely it's not the case, Albert who looked like the "evening-manager" was not really kind when I complainted about the Spa or the facts previously exposed, and he looked angry to me when I explained all with education, other security guy who probably was a nightclub bouncer in his old times, looked aggressive to a British teenager who did really nothing by other hand Melanie at the Check-in was kind and professional. If you really want to enjoy a relaxing time with your friends or family, Lloret is an amazing place, just avoid this Hotel.
