Worlds worst hotel
Worlds worst hotel anyone can walk in or out of the hotel as thay please the food was shocking as were the manners from staff the drinks definitely was watered down I had to attend 2 children and administer first aid as the staff didn't know what to do. dog friendly sister hotel directly across barking all hours anyway if you decide to book enjoy your stay
Shocking hotel, dreadful food and awful smell in bedrooms - location ok - entertainment average -
This hotel is probably the worst hotel I’ve ever had the misfortune of booking. Il start with the fact there was no welcome drink on arrival followed by a discourteous reception - very frosty - had to pay 5 euros daily for a key to the safe and had to pay deposits for beach towels. The food at this hotel is of very poor standard. Cheap cut meats - lots of rubbish unhealthy food such as daily pizza chips dry pasta - awful sauce to go with it and the meat is the scrag ends and very fatty the fish doesn’t look fresh and although they cook this I front of you on a grill it really is off colour - they had an aubergine par evans one day which I was quite excited about only to find it was raw - i do know my food as I am of foreign decent Italian/french/ Maltese but really the food here is vile ! To add to this the room we stayed in hD serious drainage problems where a dreadful waft of god knows what would come through the drains in bathroom and stink out our room Just awful !
Okish but wouldn’t come again unfortunately
Still here at the moment. It’s been an Okish family holiday and a nice break, But I won’t come Calella again. There’s 11 of us here including 3 small children. We came in 2017 and we loved it but not this time round. The hotel itself is quite lovely. The rooms are really nice and spacious, the beds are comfy and they have got nice power shower. The cleaners come everyday to clean your room so it’s fresh everyday. The food is really poor in the restaurant to be honest. Having young kids you think they’d have a child section with more choice for them but no they don’t. If you have fussy eaters this hotel is not for you. Us adults always found something to eat like chips, meat, pizza, fish etc but for the kids not much for them and they basically lived on burger and chips from the snack bar all week. They cater a lot for the Spanish other foreign countries and not as much for the English. Some food looked undercooked too it really wasn’t the best at all especially if you are a fussy eater like myself and other family members. It’s just repetitive and similar food every single day. Breakfast is probably the best to be honest. Entertainment was quite poor too could be a lot better it was a lot better when we came in 2017 but not this time round. The animation team don’t really bother with the children only in the evening for half an hour when it’s mini disco, I’ve only seen 1 girl from the animation team but she doesn’t really interact or do anything with the kids at the kids club only seen it open once whilst been here haven’t really see her throughout the day either but maybe because it’s out of season now being September I’m not sure. Some staff seemed friendly and some are miserable and don’t know how to crack a smile. Most of the time only 1 person working at the bar which caused big queues. Pool areas are ok but can be very slippy. We enjoyed the slides and little kids pool with slides it kept them entertained. Pools aren’t really big either. Lifeguards around but not really taking much notice and sat int here phoned and sometimes not even around which I find unsafe. We walked into calella town quite a few times. A lot of places have shut down now because covid has hit it hard it seems and it’s very run down. No English bars/restaurants which is sad really. Lots of shops to do some holiday shopping which we enjoyed and we went to some nice bars and restaurants for some food and drink due to not enjoying the food in the hotel. There is McDonald’s and Burger King near by. The beach is only a 10 minute walk lovely beach but it’s stoney/grit sand beach. I recommend La Riera for food. We went here for a meal it’s a lovely place, good prices and nice staff. All in all it was a nice break with my family and we had good weather but wouldn’t return to this hotel or Calella any time soon I’m afraid. Like I said we had an Okish holiday and it was a nice break and The kids enjoyed it and we have the nice weather too but I would deffo recommend somewere else tha. calella if your looking for a nice family holiday with things to do especially with young children.
