This was the 2nd time we had stayed at this hotel this year and it was a very enjoyable stay, This time we had a room at the back which was a lot better than the front, more space and so peaceful, We were all inclusive but ate out every day as we like to do that, The hotel is in a nice area, lovely location which we enjoyed, Will definitely look to stay in the future.

A Winter Break.

Our group consisted of 4 adults with 2 rooms. We arrived on the second of January 2022 for one week. The reception staff were very helpful when we requested rooms on a high floor, next to each other if possible. We had two fabulous rooms on the sixth floor, granted not sea views, but the rooms have no balconies anyway. The lack of balcony was not an issue for us at that time of year, but could be in the height of summer. There is a roof terrace with fantastic views across the bay towards the harbour / marina. The bar on the roof terrace is open from 10:30 - 14:00, which may change in the height of the summer season. The bar staff (Nico in particular) where very polite and patient, they spoke and understood English. The spa is also located on the roof, we were very lucky to be the only 4 using one morning. the cold plunge pool is definitely a challenge after coming out the Turkish bath :) We walked every day through the Old Town to the New town, stopping off for re-hydration purposes at the first Pinocchio's bar. We never had to dine away from the hotel as the food on offer was always fresh and varied. the waiting staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is an entertainment area in the lower ground floor where Charlie the entertainment coordinator, entertained everyone before the main act would come on. The entertainment when we were there was very good, apart from one evening when we were in the presence of a cabaret singer / dancer, the young lady was quite bland. She turned up late then did not really endear herself to the non Spanish speaking section of the audience. The rest of the week the entertainment was excellent, a magical comedy act (hilarious), Joe King (I am not) superb singer. And another fantastic Soul / Rock singer Tracey Reid. Tracey was a great entertainer. Bingo night, that was funny also, Charlie hosted most evenings and was a great laugh. A great winter break thoroughly enjoyed by the four of us. A couple of patio heaters, outside seating area downstairs, in the evening would be advantageous as the social seating area at reception is limited.

Really nice hotel great staff.

We stayed over the Christmas period for 5 days, had a great stay the room was clean, well equipped with a fridge stocked with drinks and a nice bottle of cava which we enjoyed on the roof terrace area one afternoon. The restaurant food was both varied and delicious every meal time the salad choices, meat & fish were exceptional quality standard was very high it was not the usual “sloppy” offerings! We were never rushed and enjoyed the experience very much. Christmas Day was great we assembled in the downstairs bar for cocktails and nibbles at 6pm then up to the restaurant for 7pm, the food just kept coming, all courses delicious, the staff at all times were on their game but this night they were under pressure but coped so well. I am a retired hotelier and chef of 50 years so naturally always looking at standards, it’s automatic ! The standards at the Villa del Mar are high to say the least. The stay over the Christmas period was expensive,£1700 for 5days, you can stay much cheaper at other times so we will be back for sure!! Thanks all at Villa del Mar for a lovely Christmas Jules n Jan
