Epic Family Holiday!!!!

Family holiday to remember We are on our last day at Bay Gardens hotel in beautiful St Lucia. The day we arrived we were all extremely tired. The manager Ms Gustave was on hand to take care of us to get us checked in as soon as possible. She ensured we had rooms next to each other which was so important for our group as we had young children. Thank you for sorting this out for us as it made a huge difference to our holiday. All through the holiday she checked our group was ok. The owners are very lucky to have such a dedicated, hardworking manageress to run their hotels. Nathaniel showed us to our rooms and was so helpful. He gave us all the information we needed. Such a lovely person and the welcome you need after a long flight. The hotel is extremely clean. The cleaners work so hard. Marcella kept our rooms immaculate. The rooms are very big with a lovely balcony. So comfortable for us. Couldn’t have asked for more. 3 Swimming pools are good enough for a swim and great for the kids as they 2 out of 3 are shallow throughout. Restaurant Breakfast is delicious and plenty of choice for everyone. We loved the authentic choices. Lunch and dinner - plenty of options for the whole family. I recommend going when you are not really hungry as waiting time can be a little long. All the staff are really friendly and so nice to talk to. I’m particular we would like to give a special thank you to Debbie. Every morning we see her we are greeted with the biggest smile. Always goes above and beyond ti make sure we have everything we need. Anya and Bianca were also really lovely. Denson and Kwasei were both outstanding waiters. Nothing is to much for them. Such friendly lovely guys. We often took the shuttle to the Bay gardens beach resort which is a great complimentary service. Beach is stunning!!!!! We had a couple of meals there which is also on the all inclusive plan. That was a nice change. So amazing you can go to the beach resort and still eat and drink. For any tours speak to Beatrice at the bay gardens beach resort. She is fab! Sorted everything out for us. We really enjoyed the catamaran island tour. We were even lucky enough to to see humpback whales!!!!! What an experience. Thank you Beatrice for being so helpful and making sure we did the right tour our group. She even organised childcare for my friends son. The kids club and additional childcare was a fantastic option if needed. Francesca was so greet with the kids. This made a huge difference to my friends holiday. Thank you. We would definitely not hesitate coming back again and we look forward to seeing Ms Gustave and her amazing team. My children also have it a 5 out of 5!

Please pm, me if you wish to know anything about the hotel. Most of the things that have concerned us while here were due to miscommunication, by Tui. There is, what has already been mentioned a strange arrangement, Re dining at other hotels in the same group and the dine around options.

Very relaxing holiday

Stayed for two weeks in superior room with all inclusive. Positives: Staff are wonderful and friendly. Room clean with attentive housekeeping. Plenty of loungers by pool which was very clean. Towels available. Bar was excellent with wide variety of drinks and extensive cocktail list. shuttle to/from beach was useful. Ran every hour from 0930 on time. Negatives: staying for 2 weeks the food menus become monotonous and limited. Manageress reception (each Monday) was underwhelming with 'free' drink (free on all inclusive?) and buffet meal (can order from the daytime menu). Buffet was good on first occasion, less so on second. Sometimes the wait time for service is quite long. This is NOT an issue with staff but more organisation behind the scenes I think. Some of the 'entertainment' was mediocre and while there was a range of music styles played in the bar, the focus was, unsurprisingly, on reggae. All Inclusive - there appears to be several variations of 'all inclusive'. Those booked direct with resort include Spa treatments and a 'Dine Around' programme, while those booked through agents/travel companies have less included. You need to check with reception which one you are on but it would be very useful to have this information clearly explained in writing. There was some road noise but it was not a problem. Covid protection: All visitors to St Lucia have, currently, vaccination/PCR results checked at airport and required to wear a wrist band for duration of stay. Masks to be worn in all indoor public spaces and while hotel staff all complied throughout, many visitors were less compliant and I did not see anyone being asked to wear a mask. Hand washing on entering hotel was mandatory and temperatures checks were made twice per day. Transfers: Organised private transfer ($80US) which takes from 1 hr to 1 hr 30 mins depending on traffic Roads are appalling for the most part with many potholes and standard of driving is poor. We had a return tour to the airport which took in most of the sites ($80US per person) Overall: a good holiday with many happy memories of friendly staff. Needs to up its game in terms of the limited menu for those staying a couple of weeks on 'all inclusive.
