Very nice place in a good neighbourhood!!

This neighbourhood is beautiful and peaceful and yet 20 minutes walk to the museum plain .. all rivers and beautiful streets. The staff in the hotel is kind and helpful and the hotel is basically very good. Clean and comfortable also nice restaurant and very good breakfast. I recommend it as a reliable place good choice I enjoyed staying here thank you!!

High price, low standard

Forget about 5 stars. This is 3 stars. Tops. Let's start with the good things. The bed was excellent and the bathroom modern. End of good things. The check in took like 45 minutes, I don't know what the problem was but it was a clown show. My room was brown. As "it's 1978 brown", brown old chairs, brown carpet, brown desk - very not modern. There where too few electricity outlets and no (wine) glasses, except for coffee cups. The ventilation had to be turned off since it was VERY loud. I am lucky I visited in February and not in July. The sound isolation was very poor, you heard cars, mopeds, dogs and people through the windows. The breakfast was very sparse and not very well made, quite frankly it was sub standard. It opened late, 7 am, and not even in time some days. Other days it opened 7 am but the food was not prepared.

After our Viking Rhine Cruise ended in Amsterdam, we planned to stay the night to check out the city. This hotel had the right combination of price, location, and amenities. We chose one of the 2nd floor suits which included a balcony for smoking. The room was located above the side street which was lined with sycamore trees so the balcony was screened by the branches—it was lovely. Noise level was not bad since this was not the tourist sector but it was still the city so it wasn’t quiet or dark. The room was spacious especially the bathroom. From the hotel we walked to the old city and passed several canals along the way. We didn’t wind up eating at the hotel but we did order from the bar and the bartender was friendly. The staff was friendly and called a cab for us in the morning to get to the airport. Would stay here again.
