El Dorado Seaside Suites by Karisma
4892 reviews
Located in Mexico’s stunning Riviera Maya, El Dorado Seaside Suites offer a 5 star gourmet inclusive® experience for adults. The resort is split into two distinct sections and you can choose the one which best suits you. Infinity is a modern oceanfront building with swim-up suites and balcony pools on every floor. Or stay in the Palms section if you prefer to be next to a white sand beach with coconut plantations. And best of all, you'll be handed a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival.
Start your day by choosing where you’ll eat breakfast. One of the offerings is an exciting grilled feast on the beach. Or you can opt for one of three more conventional options, which allow you to consume your first meal at any time between 6am and 11am. In the evening there’s a choice of seven places to dine. Whether you prefer international cuisine, Caribbean dishes, Asian fusion, local Mexican delicacies or Italian, there’s something for you. Those wanting home comforts can opt for one of the British favourites like shepherd’s pie, fish & chips and rice pudding.
Whatever time of day it is you’ll be able to get something to eat, with early lunch options starting as soon as late breakfast finishes. While light meals and grilled BBQ delights are available throughout the afternoon, until dinner options become available. There’s plenty of variety of scenery too, with dining tables set among tropical trees, in beach huts, as well as inside the building. If you prefer to eat on your terrace, room service is available 24/7.
In total there are ten bars, including four swim-up options. Between them they offer a range of soft and alcoholic drinks from 9am to 2am. Mezcalito, named after the Mexican drink Mezcal, serves a wide assortment of liquors. While at Margaritas both the beverages and views are exotic. Whether you prefer a lively end to the day with entertainment or a quiet drink while admiring the view, there’s something for you.
Guests get complimentary use of the sauna, steam bath and the fitness centre. Choose from four swimming pools and if you’re adventurous book a scuba diving class. For an additional charge El Dorado Seaside Suites offer private candlelight dining, fresh lobster, further international wine options from the cellar and spa packages. Just what you need if you’re planning the perfect romantic trip.
In the Infinity section swim-up suites are a generous 54m2 and include a 10.4m2 terrace. As well as the standard amenities you would expect at a 5 star property, there is a round sofa for two that swivels 360 degrees to enjoy the wonderful views. While in the Palms building, junior suites offer 45m2 of space. Connecting rooms are available on request and each suite has a bath.
El Dorado Seaside Suites offer scuba diving excursions (for a surcharge) and kayaking. While you will feel extremely comfortable within the resort, you shouldn’t miss out on the national beauty in the area. Kantun Chi, under 7km away, is an exotic and relaxing paradise with impressive cenotes (water caves). In the other direction Yal-ku Cenote y Laguna Yalku is an eco park that offers something for everyone. Clear waters for swimming or snorkelling, hiking paths, beaches for those who like to relax and if you’re lucky you might spot some turtles.

Honeymoon experience
My wife and I came for our honeymoon and it was wonderful! Everyone was so nice, attentive and caring. Made us feel like family! First we meet our concierge Elizeth. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was special and full of events. She continuously checked on us and always greeted us around the property. Next we meet our new best friends Miriam and Elber out working the activities at the pool! They were the life of the party! We had so much fun hanging with them all week and they kept us in the know of all the “parties” while we were there. We can’t wait to get back to see them soon! Everyone played a part in making our special week amazing. Highly recommend visiting and Make sure to ask for our new friends Miriam and Elber!!!!
Incredible Stay
Incredible Hotel filled with amazing staff. It really is a beautiful unpretentious place, which reflects on the guests too. We stayed in a Beachfront Junior Suite. The room was huge with a lovely walk in shower, jacuzzi in the room and a lovely big comfortable bed. Our view was of the lovely gardens and beach/sea. I would really recommend it … However they are located near one of the main beach bars which hosts the evening entertainment. This is loud and goes on till late (midnight to 2am). At times it felt like the live band was in the room with us. It didn’t really affect us as we were so tired/are heavy sleepers so slept with no issues but if you like a quiet evening/night and/or are a light sleeper I probably wouldn’t recommend this room. We always spent the days chilling on the beach or at the activity pool, which had a swim up bar. The entertainment team are fantastic. They were great at getting people involved but not pushy and helped getting everyone chatting. They even have a foam party during the week which was a blast to my teenage past! The sea/beach is plagued with seaweed, which is a common issue with Mexico. But all day every day a troop of staff would fork up the seaweed and keep it as clean and swimmable as possible. They are the unsung heroes of the resort, with such a thankless task. Food at the hotel is very tasty here! What is incredible about this hotel is that the buffet restaurant is small and the real focus is on the A Le Carte restaurants. We absolutely loved this. The meat just falls off the bone and I’ve never tasted such great cooked pork. Our favourites was the Culinarium for Breakfast & Lunch then Mia Casa Dorado and Klay Talay for dinner. Settings and food was delicious at these. The seaside market is the buffet and is definitely missable. Food was nice but there wasn’t the variety to make a ‘normal’ meal. Is a bit like someone on acid thought up the food choices. The only place we were disappointed with was the Gourmet Pub as the food was quite tasteless. Another oddity is that there is a serious lack of ice cream (none) available to enjoy during the day. The resort uses a mix of cheap and premium alcohol, which is all included in the stay. Beware the alcohol to mixer ratio is heavy. You can quickly find your head spinning and knees trembling. These three were the stand out members of staff during our stay: Angela (Concierge for Block 26) - She was so incredibly helpful. Booked up all of our restaurants, sorted a VIP table for the Mexican night and sorted out us having a hire car for 3 days. This was through a chap called Miguel (Fast and Easy Car Rental) which was dropped off and picked up from the hotel. He was reliable and trustworthy. Plus we thought booking through the hotel provided a bit more protection and avoided having to try and get to Playa or Tulum to pick one up. Alexandro Carrillo (Concierge for Main Reception) - When he saw we’d hired a car he sat down with us and recommended the best way to plan our trip to Chichen Itza. It was invaluable as we got there before the crowds and then got to experience a Mexican Town and Cenote afterwards he’d recommended. Erick (Waiter at Culinarium) - Always happy, funny and a joy to be served by. Made us just keep wanting to go back. Top Three Tips … If you want to explore beyond the hotel then hire a car. Is safe, saves you £££ on unnecessary tours and opens up so many exploring opportunities that tours don’t give. Book the A Le Carte restaurants on your first day to avoid disappointment and avoid the Seaside Market/Gourmet Pub. Bring a small thermos mug to keep your drinks cool as they get warm quick in that weather.
Fabulous resort
Currently staying here in a swim up pool room. The resort is lovely. It's clean , easy to navigate and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Not had a bad meal yet and drinks at the bar are more than adequate with several branded spirits. The resort isn't perfect but it is great. There are a few bits that could do with a bit of tlc but nothing that would spoil your time here. Be warned there is a lot of seaweed which I know can't be helped but all credit to the ground staff they are constantly clearing it away so there are parts of the beach where you can swim. I would definitely recommend and we would not hesitate to come back. Thank you. Sean & Charlie Barber
