My 4 friends and I loved our stay where we celebrated one friend’s bachelorette party. The facilities were super beautiful, especially the lobby and restaurant/shopping area. The food was great especially the a la carte options at Sugar Cane, where we went twice (goat curry baby!) The alcohol is flowing from when you walk in and get a mimosa or rum punch. We loved the pool, the disco, and the Privilege Lounge. A few staff really stood out for their excellent service and impeccable vibes - especially Alex the bartender who will get the party started, Tania who makes the best espresso martinis, and Kimberly at Sugar Cane who accommodated us coming in late for dinner. At first we were a bit impatient with some of the service, but then we learned to relax and adjust our expectations - we’re visiting from New York where service is extremely fast because restaurants constantly want to turn over more guests. There’s no incentive for that here and staff did take their time. But everything came and most importantly the food was tasty. This may not be the place for you if you’re super picky, like if you have a very specific cocktail you like to drink - the ingredients are pretty standard (I was a little sad I couldn’t get a mojito because the bars didn’t have mint and only sometime limes. We tipped pretty generously - each of the 5 of us probably left an average of $100 during our 4 day stay. $10 for breakfast/lunch/bars, $20 for dinner, $20-$30 for the housekeepers.

Beautiful resort & relaxing vacation!

Stayed for 5 nights in June with my husband and had a positive experience. I don’t usually leave reviews but have seen a number of negative reviews on here that seemed unwarranted in comparison to our experience. Our check in was quick and they accommodated the requests I had made during booking which was to have a room with a king sized bed located on a higher floor in a quiet area of resort. We had an Oceanview room on the 5th floor of building # 4. The room was beautiful and clean. The only issue we had was that our mini bar was not stocked on arrival and there was no iron in the room. Our housekeeper, Shalomar, was so helpful and friendly & she took care of this immediately for us, so it was not a problem at all. If you are fortunate enough to have Shalomar as your housekeeper then I can assure you’ll be in good hands! We left her a tip of $5 a day & she seemed very appreciative of that. The resort itself is new & beautiful. In our experience the staff were very friendly and attentive. We tipped pretty generously at the buffet & a la cartes. Food was very good overall. Shen & Monique provided excellent service at breakfast buffet, which was delicious. Thali & Sugar Cane were the best al la carte restaurants we had. The steakhouse was a bit of a let down and the only encounter we had with what seemed to be a disgruntled waitress. But even there the service was fast and the appetizer was good. The lobby bar was our favourite place for drinks and provided the best quality drinks. We tipped about $1 a drink, sometimes $2, and it was very appreciated. Mike’s coffee shop was a hidden gem with yummy specialty coffees and treats. Outside there was a nice quiet area to sit and enjoy. We had an issue come up at home (Canada) and needed to make a long distance call to Westjet. The girl on the Guest Services desk was very helpful. I can’t remember her name. We did find it was very windy at the resort and spent more time at the Coral Springs pool than the Eden Bay because we found it to be a nicer pool in general and also more sheltered from the wind. The beach area was smaller than some resorts and pretty rocky in areas, but it was still beautiful with some sandy spots and it never felt overcrowded. The staff worked very hard making sure the beach area was cleaned daily. If you are booked here and hesitant about going, don’t worry about the negative reviews! This place was beautiful and we got the restful, relaxing experience we went for. We found that 99.9% of staff were kind and accommodating. These people work very hard and likely are not paid very much. Treat them with respect and kindness and majority of the time you’ll get the same in return. If you’re willing to pay thousands of dollars to go on a vacation, then I would imagine you are also in a position to take $100 extra to tip the staff. That being said, even without tipping we would have been happy with the level of service we received. As a recommendation to hotel management, I would suggest giving guests a paper copy of the resort map upon arrival and a print out with general information for reference. For example we had some trouble locating the towel hut for our area initially and this would have helped in that regard. Overall, we were very happy with our stay at Ocean Eden Bay and would definitely recommend this resort as a relaxing Caribbean vacation destination!

Not a complainer but…first time I felt unsafe!

Pros: 1) Beautiful resort so much to do! 2) amazing entertainment team 3) rocking disco 4) Kevin (privilege butler) was the best thing about our stay (although never heard any responses from from his partner Marvin on Kevin’s days off) 5) The staff in the Privilege lounge 6) Opal (outstanding bartender) 7) Foam party (Saturday) Cons: 1) No hooks in the bathroom or towel rack on the balcony 2) Staff - We ended up spending most of our vacation hiding from really aggressive staff members. Not just the men, the females too! - Actually tried to change flights to come home early 3) Not a resort for limited mobility…lots and lots of walking and golf carts are hard to get and really high off the ground Summary: I love H-10 resorts and travel very frequently… This resort has tons of potential but a huge staff problem… Top Management realizes there is a huge staff problem …and I met a couple consultants (who H10 just hired to work with the staff and evaluate service) and they have there work cut out for them.
