Great location and lovely hotel
We stayed at the Navarra for a couple of nights last August. The location was excellent and allowed us to easily walk everywhere. We had two rooms since our grown children were with us, and both were very comfortable if small, as one would expect in a historic hotel. The bathrooms were quite modern and pretty. The hotel has attractive public areas and a good breakfast. The service is welcoming and pleasant. There is a plaque about the interesting history of the building. We would happily stay at the Navarra again.
Xmas Market visit
My wife and I stayed here Dec 12th to 16th 2022 for the Xmas Market in Bruges. Having looked at various hotels, we settled on the Navarra and it did not dissappoint us. The hotel has a car park for 25 to 30 cars (chargeable at 20 euros a night) and we were fortunate to find a space there so parked up and the car stayed there for the duration of our stay. It's a very good hotel in our opinion. Check in was effortless and we were shown to our room. Our room was at the back of the hotel so up and down a few steps in the corridors, but just round the corner from our room was a door straight out to the car park, so loading the car to leave was easy. All staff who we came into contact with - reception, bar, cleaning and restaurant staff for breakfast were all very welcoming and attentive to anything we asked of them. The position of the hotel is fantastic for the square where the Xmas Market is held. A couple of hundred metres and you're there. Literally a couple of minutes walk and you're right in the heart of things. In other reviews that I've read, some have said not to eat in the square as it's so expensive. What I would say is have a look at the menus and prices before you dismiss it, because my wife and I ate in the square every evening. We didn't pay more than 60 euros for a meal between us, the occasional dessert and 1-2 alcoholic drinks each, so we found it fine. The restaurants tend to have the main menu (some of which does look expensive and some reasonable), but they also do another smaller less expensive menu. We ate off that most of the time, but also off the main menu so I'd say have a look and make your own mind up. All in all, a very pleasant trip. Thanks to all the staff at the Navarra. We would definitely stay there again.
Best base in Bruges! Absolutely BRILLIANT.
I took my teenage daughter for a Christmassy weekend in mid December to Bruges and chose this hotel based on previous reviews and my word it didn't disappoint! The building is beautiful. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms were comfortable, warm with a fabulous shower. Everything was impeccably clean. Rooms were cleaned to perfection. The standards generally were excellent. We had drinks in the piano bar. The waiter was friendly and attentive and we were made to feel welcome at all times. A hidden gem to this place is the swimming pool and sauna which we made use of each day after sight seeing in minus 3 degrees. The ambience at the pool was so relaxing with the lighting and it was so warm. The sauna was amazing too. The location was perfect. There's nothing I could fault this hotel on. We will return to Bruges and we will stay here again. 5 out of 5 stars.
