What’s the weather like in Antalya in October?
Antalya’s both the gateway to the Turkish Riviera and a lovely resort in its own right. It’s on southern Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, which means it has typical Mediterranean weather with high temperatures and lots of sun in October. You will get more rain as the month goes on though.
The Taurus Mountains protect Antalya and its beaches from cool northern winds. This means it has warmer weather, and you’ll still feel like it’s summer in October. Rainfall does increase during the month as the wet winter approaches, but you’ll still get long hours of sunshine and great holiday weather if you’re going in October.
The average high’s 26ºC in October, which cools to 14ºC at night. Shorts and t-shirt will be fine in the day alongside your swimwear, although you should bring some warmer clothes for the evenings. At 25ºC, the sea’s great for swimming. Humidity’s low, and there’s 73mm of rain over six days. You can look forward to 11 hours of daylight each day with eight hours of sunshine at a moderate UV level. Sunset’s at 6.40pm at the start of October and just after 5pm by the end of the month due to daylight saving.
Things to Do
Called the ‘most beautiful place on earth’ by Atatürk, the founder of Turkey, Antalya’s known as the Pearl of the Mediterranean for good reason. Head to beaches such as Konyaalti beach, popular Lara beach and nearby Side beach, or stick to man-made fun at the Aquapark waterpark. The cooler October temperatures are great for sightseeing at places like Hadrian’s Gate and Aspendos with its Roman amphitheatre.
