    Gran Canaria weather August

What’s the weather like in Gran Canaria in August?

Located around 150km off the west coast of North Africa, you'll get lots of hot and sunny weather if you're going to Gran Canaria in August. It’s the hottest month of the year and you'll be nice and dry at this time. The centre of Gran Canaria’s dominated by high mountains that shelter the south from north easterly winds. You'll be warmer and drier here, although things are cooler and wetter in the mountains themselves. The Canary Current will stop you from getting too hot although the Sahara Desert does its best to push temperatures up when it sends hot winds over.
