What’s the weather like in Nice in February?
The climate begins to warm up in February, but it’s still winter and cold spells are almost guaranteed. However, the days are much milder than previous months and you can look forward to higher temperatures as the month progresses.
Geographical influences
Nice weather in February is influenced by its location on the French Riviera on the southeast coast. The Mediterranean climate has cooled in the winter, but you can still enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the city during the off-season. Hills in the north of Nice provide the city with extra shelter and most days are clear and bright, which is great if you have a lot of outdoor activities planned for your visit.
Averages
The average temperature begins at 10°C and often increases to 13°C at midday. In the evening, things cool down to 6°C, so make sure to wear warm layers to keep yourself comfortable at night. The chance of rain is high, with 70mm falling on six days of the month. Showers are usually short and light, but it’s still a good idea to come prepared with an umbrella. You’ll have nine hours of bright sunshine to enjoy per day, which has increased by an hour since January.
