What's the weather like in Sorrento in February?

Sorrento is a popular holiday destination, just a short distance from Naples and Pompeii. Located on Italy’s stunning Amalfi Coast in the southwest of the country, Sorrento has a Mediterranean climate bringing hot summers and mild, damp winters to the town. It’s still wintertime in February and although temperatures are relatively mild, it’s one of the coldest months of the year. It’s also quite wet at this time, so you’ll need to come prepared with a waterproof jacket if you visit Sorrento in February.

In February, the average temperature in Sorrento is 9ºC, reaching highs of 13ºC in the warmest part of the afternoon. With lows of 4ºC at night, you’ll need to bring plenty of warm layers, especially if you’re spending evenings out at the local bars and restaurants. Less than 100mm of rain’s forecast during February and with an average of 13 wet days, it’s likely you’ll see some showers at this time. You’ll need to be brave to take a dip in the sea this month, as the Mediterranean waters measure a chilly 14ºC, the lowest temperature of the year.
