What's the weather like in Playa del Carmen in October?
Playa del Carmen is a beautiful beach resort on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, with stunning tropical scenery and a lovely climate. This Caribbean destination’s hot and sunny all year round, but has a distinct wet season. This season ends in October, so you should still prepare to see some downpours if you visit at this time, especially towards the beginning of the month. The sun still shines for eight hours each day though, with the showers usually clearing pretty quickly.
Averages
In October the average temperature in Playa del Carmen is 26°C, reaching highs of 31°C in the height of the day. With temperatures like these and a strong UV level, protect yourself with plenty of high factor sun cream. The average is still 22°C, so you may want to think about booking a hotel room that has air conditioning. Around 115mm of rain’s forecast in October, so the odd shower is likely, and you should bear this in mind when you pack. When you’re at the beach though, the Caribbean waters are a warm 28°C, lovely for swimming and snorkelling.
