What’s the weather like in Antigua in May?

If you’re looking for hot temperatures and plenty of sunshine, May is a great time of year to visit Antigua. With warm, tropical weather and just a small amount of cloud cover, this is a good month for relaxing on the idyllic beaches away from the high season crowds. In May the Caribbean Sea is very warm, making it perfect for swimming and snorkelling, while the evenings are perfect for meals out at the island’s open-air restaurants.

With average daytime temperatures of 27°C, Antigua is beautifully warm in the month of May. In the afternoons temperatures can reach up to 29°C, so make sure you seek shade and regularly apply high factor sun cream. After dark temperatures dip only slightly to 24°C, making air conditioning essential on your holiday to Antigua. The island has almost 60mm of rain in May, but while rain showers are likely they’re usually short-lived.
