What’s the weather like in Antigua in August?

As part of the West Indies and close to the equator, Antigua has a tropical climate that brings high temperatures to the island all year round. Antigua lies where the North Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea meet. Along with sunny days and intense heat, this means you’ll also be able to enjoy sparkling blue, warm waters perfect for swimming, snorkelling and water sports. August is the hottest month on the island, so make sure you pack lots of high factor sun cream to stay safe in the sun.

    Averages

In August, Antigua is hot with an average daytime temperature of 29°C and highs of 31°C. At night the temperature dips only slightly to 26°C, so you’ll be grateful for air conditioning at your hotel. As for wet weather, the island gets a small amount of rain with 78mm expected to fall over the course of the month. Although you’ll probably experience some showers or thunderstorms at this time of year, any rain will be short-lived. For days on the spectacular beaches, you’ll be able to swim in the bath-like Caribbean Sea which measures around 29°C in August.
