What’s the weather like in Hawaii in August?
In August the islands of Hawaii are hot, dry and sunny with high temperatures, warm seas and only a small chance of short-lived rain showers. For weather that’s perfect for relaxing on the golden sands, exploring marine life in the calm waters or relaxing in the beachside bars, August is a great month to visit Hawaii. While temperatures can get very high in the hottest part of the day, the weather’s still bearable with the cooling trade winds.
Averages
During the daytime, temperatures in Hawaii reach average highs of 29°C, so make sure you wear lots of sun cream and seek shade during the hottest part of the day. For days by the beach, the sea’s a balmy 27°C at this time of year, perfect for swimming, snorkelling or having a go at some new water sports. In August the seas to the south of the islands are usually calm, while the northern and eastern regions are best for surfing.
