Sitting in southwest Turkey along the country’s beautiful Aegean coastline, Altinkum is a popular resort town for holidays in the sun. It has a Mediterranean climate bringing hot, dry summers to the region, with temperatures starting to cool down in September. The weather’s still lovely and warm at this time of year though, perfect for enjoying lazy days at the beach and having a go at some watersports on the warm waters of the Aegean Sea.

    Averages

In September, the average temperature in Altinkum is 20ºC, peaking at 23ºC in the warmest part of the day. It’s not too hot at this time of year, but you’ll still want to protect yourself with plenty of sun cream to avoid burning. After dark, the average low cools to 16ºC, so you might need a light jumper or cardigan for evenings out in the resort. Just 20mm of rain’s expected over the course of three days in September, while there are 11 hours of sunshine each day.
