What’s the weather like in Tenerife in November?
If you're looking for some sun late in the year then Tenerife holidays are a great option, as it has warm weather even over winter. Thanks to its location off the west coast of Africa, you'll get lots of sun and not much rain if you go there at this time.
Geographical influences
Tenerife’s parallel to the Sahara Desert, which would give it even hotter weather if not for the Canary Current. This is a cool stream of water that comes from the Atlantic Ocean, and not only keeps temperatures down on the island but also gives Tenerife great diving conditions. Things can get hot when winds come in from the desert, which can bring the occasional dust storm, most likely when the seasons are changing. Mount Teide’s the highest point in Spain and one of the world’s tallest volcanoes. It shelters Tenerife’s south from north easterly winds and attracts most of the rain, keeping you dry on the coast.
Averages
The average high temperature during November is 23ºC, so you can still look forward to some warm sunshine at this time. You should pack a warmer jumper for the evenings as, though it’s not exactly cold, things do cool down a bit. The average sea temperature’s 22ºC, while humidity’s low and ranges from 50% to 80%. Average rainfall’s 47mm over five rainy days.
Daylight
During November you can expect 11 hours of daylight with six hours of sunshine each day. UV levels will still be moderate, so make sure you use plenty of sun cream. Sunset’s around 6.15pm in November.
