    What's the weather like in Oman in January?

Although January is winter in Oman, temperatures are warm and perfect for an escape in the sun. If you have little ones or prefer cooler weather compared to the sweltering heat of summer, January is a great time to visit Oman.     In the capital Muscat, the average temperature’s 21ºC in January, reaching highs of 25ºC in the peak of the afternoon. Make sure you pack plenty of sun cream for the warm days, seek shade between 11am and 3pm and drink lots of water. At night, temperatures cool down to 17ºC, so you won’t need much more than light layers for evenings out. Just 20mm of rain’s forecast in January, along with nine hours of daily sunshine. If you want to take a dip in the sea, the Gulf of Oman’s waters measure a lovely 24ºC at this time of year.
