What’s the weather like in Bali in December?
Bali’s just eight degrees south of the equator which means it has tropical weather with high temperatures all year round. The Indonesian island has a distinct wet season, with the western monsoon running from late October to April. In December, the rain doesn’t usually last for long and it leaves fresh blue skies behind. There are tall mountains inland so you’ll find it’s a bit cooler and wetter here. It’ll be warmer and drier the further away from the mountains you are and warmest on the coast.
The average high in popular Kuta is 31ºC in December, which only cools to 24ºC at night. These temperatures are perfect for escaping the chilly UK weather. At 29ºC, the sea’s lovely and warm for swimming, while humidity’s very high. There’s 250mm of rain over 16 days, although you can still look forward to eight hours of sunshine from the 13 hours of daylight each day. Take plenty of sun cream with you as UV levels will be extremely high. The sun goes down at around 6.30pm.
