    What's the weather like in New England in October?

    New England is a region in the northeast of the United States, and is made up of the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. It has a wide range of landscapes, from mountains to forests and beautiful beaches, so the weather changes depending on which part of the region you visit. From coastal cities such as Boston and Portland, to mountain resorts in Vermont popular for the winter snow, weather is very varied across New England in October.


    Boston, in the state of Massachusetts, has an average temperature of 12°C in October, with highs of 16°C and lows of 8°C. The city expects around 80mm of rain, which is less than in Portland where 100mm of wet weather’s forecast. It’s a bit cooler here than in Boston though, and with an average temperature of 10°C, it matches temperatures in Killington, which is a popular ski resort.
