It’s a great time to visit if you’re not a fan of the heat or busy crowds since January is usually quiet and peaceful at this time of year.

    Geographical influences

Its location on the south-east coast of Majorca means Cala d'Or experiences a typical Mediterranean climate. Unfortunately, you’ve missed the warmth of the summer but January has its advantages. The beaches are quiet and you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious three-course meal in most restaurants without the need of a reservation. You’ll also get to enjoy a quiet game of golf or tennis without waiting very long for your turn.

January is the coldest month of the year, with temperatures dropping as low as 4°C at night. The days are a little milder at around 16°C on the good days. Wind speeds of up to 11 mph coming in from the Mediterranean Sea are usually more common on the beach. On the bright side, you’ll get nine hours of lovely sunshine each day and the chance of rain is quite rare. January sees just 34mm of rainfall, which makes it a great time to visit if you want to explore the resort without worrying about getting caught in a heavy downpour.
