What’s the weather like in Riviera Maya in May?
Even though the wet season begins this month in this Caribbean resort, the Riviera Maya weather in May is still very hot and packed with famous Mexican sunshine. You’ll need to bring plenty of warm weather clothes and just a showerproof jacket in case you’re caught in the rain.
Geographical influences
The Riviera Maya’s set along the east coast of Mexico, just south of Cancun and taking in the beach resorts of Playa del Carmen and Tulum. The region benefits from a hot tropical climate with a wet season between May and October. The heat and humidity are helped by a cool coastal breeze, which towns further inland don’t benefit from.
