What's the weather like in Punta Cana in January?
Located in the Caribbean Sea and close to the equator, the resort of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic has a tropical climate bringing warm weather to the region all year round. The rainy season is between May and November, so Punta Cana is generally dry at this time of year with just a small chance of showers and plenty of warm golden sunshine.

In January, the average temperature in Punta Cana is 25°C, with highs of 29°C in the peak of the afternoon. It’s much cooler after dark when the temperature dips to a low of 21°C, but it’s still perfectly warm for evenings out at the local restaurants or cocktail bars. With around nine hours of sunshine expected each day, January is a great month for relaxing on the beach and swimming in the Caribbean waters which are a balmy 27°C.
