If you can tear yourself away from the exceptional beaches that line the coast, then a trip to the charming village of Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera is the perfect way to spend a day. Situated right in the centre of the island, it gives an insight into authentic Ibiza and all the things that people love about holidays here.

Santa Gertrudis has seen a lot of change and improvement in recent years, but has certainly still managed to maintain its traditional allure. The village square has become pedestrianized for the benefit of its visitors and you'll find it encased in stylish bars, cafés and restaurants to wine and dine in.

The village's whitewashed church is its centre point and worth a visit, but there are also lots of independent galleries and shops to explore too; selling everything from clothes to arts and crafts. It's easy to see why this is a firm favourite with both visitors and locals.
