There are two stunning beaches in Portinatx Bay; S’Arenal Gros is the main stretch, boasting a wide crescent of soft sand and a clear cove that’s safe for paddling. Nearby, S’Arenal Petit is quieter, making it perfect for relaxing away from the crowds.

If you’re interested in snorkelling, head to the northern side of the village and dip in at Es Portitxol. You can see the fish from the shore here, but it’s worth swimming out for a more memorable underwater adventure.

There’s plenty to do in Portinatx, including water sports and boat trips to see the island from a different perspective. Many visitors enjoy a morning hike up to Punta Moscarter lighthouse, which is around an hour circuit and an excellent way to start the day before it gets too hot.

Classic Ibiza style means soft scarves, billowing fabrics, and lots of handmade jewellery. And you can find it all at the Hippie Market, which pops up in Portinatx every Sunday. Laid-back nightlife

Portinatx is much quieter than other parts of Ibiza when it comes to nightlife. Still, the small village has its own buzzy atmosphere, perfect for visitors who want to go out but not go wild. If you do feel like enjoying a big night out, it’s less than an hour’s taxi to the other side of the island, where clubs and bars are open until the early hours.
