Explore Portinatx
Portinatx is a beautiful former fishing village and a perfect holiday destination for exploring authentic Ibiza. While much of the island has been taken over by superclubs and groups of excited revellers, Portinatx remains the same peaceful retreat it’s always been. Whether you’re visiting with friends, family, or your partner, a Portinatx holiday is one to remember forever.
Beautiful beaches
There are two stunning beaches in Portinatx Bay; S’Arenal Gros is the main stretch, boasting a wide crescent of soft sand and a clear cove that’s safe for paddling. Nearby, S’Arenal Petit is quieter, making it perfect for relaxing away from the crowds.
If you’re interested in snorkelling, head to the northern side of the village and dip in at Es Portitxol. You can see the fish from the shore here, but it’s worth swimming out for a more memorable underwater adventure.
Action-packed adventures
There’s plenty to do in Portinatx, including water sports and boat trips to see the island from a different perspective. Many visitors enjoy a morning hike up to Punta Moscarter lighthouse, which is around an hour circuit and an excellent way to start the day before it gets too hot.
You might also like to potter around the village, picking up handmade souvenirs to remind you of your trip.
Day trips & nature trails
Ibiza is an ideal destination for walking and hiking adventures, and Portinatx is no exception. There’s the lighthouse walk, which is a perfect choice if you’re looking to stretch your legs before sinking back into a sunlounger. You could also make Punta Xarracó your goal. The peninsula juts out into the sea and makes a beautiful viewpoint for those willing to put in the work.
Since you’re staying on Ibiza’s more remote northern coast, you have a perfect opportunity to explore some lesser-known spots. Hike along the sandy coastal roads, finding secluded swimming spots along the way, and discover what Ibiza is really about.
Sunday Hippie Market
Classic Ibiza style means soft scarves, billowing fabrics, and lots of handmade jewellery. And you can find it all at the Hippie Market, which pops up in Portinatx every Sunday. Portinatx Sunday Market is where local craftspeople come together to share their work. If you’re looking for a unique gift or treat from Ibiza, you’re sure to get it here.
Laid-back nightlife
Portinatx is much quieter than other parts of Ibiza when it comes to nightlife. Still, the small village has its own buzzy atmosphere, perfect for visitors who want to go out but not go wild. There are plenty of excellent seafood restaurants and chilled-out bars dotted around the village, so dinner and drinks are always on the cards.
If you do feel like enjoying a big night out, it’s less than an hour’s taxi to the other side of the island, where clubs and bars are open until the early hours.
