Just stayed here last week just the two of us in acurio sol ll room 112 was lovely ground floor right in front of the pool. Had two loose electric sockets when arrived reported to reception and was sorted within the hour. Beds changed 3 times within the week and plenty of clean towels. Enjoyed the bbq night and ate there on another occasion food was lovely. Friendly staff and immaculate grounds. Just booked again for November with 2 children can’t wait to be back!

Just back from a weeks stay here with my hubby (36 & 43). After reading so many bad reviews i was dubious about staying here, but i had no need to worry. We stayed in Acuario Sol 2 which is the bigger of the 2. Spotless apartments, cleaned regularly with bed & linen changed several times. Pool bar/restaurant spot on, food great and not over priced. Staff all really lovely. Pool area clean, we were there this week so the pool was freezing but once we were in it was lovely. Salt water pool.Full english for €3.50. Basket of chips (massive portion) €3. Cocktails €5.50. Happy hour from 5-7 They have an offer where you can pay €22 for Curry night, sunday roast & BBQ nite. Spar to the right at end of road, little local shop to the left of the road. 5/10 min dander to the main strip. Nice quiet surrounding area. Felt very safe here. Safety deposit box is a must as some people have previously been robbed, but then it appears they may have left their doors open and money & electonic goods sitting freely. €27 for the week, with refund of €12 on checkout. Tv remote €15. No Air-Con which might be a bother in Summer but we just kept our windows open at night which is safe enough as their are barriers on the windows. Free Wifi! Good signal. Only downfall is there is no entertainment.I would've stayed in this bar at night had there been some form of entertainment, even a pub quiz and bingo or a games night. Will 100% book again! Loved it.

Overall holiday
It had been a few years since I last took an overseas holiday but this year, after a long cold winter and almost none existent spring, I felt in need of some warm sun on my back and ease my old bones. I thought of all the places I've been to before and wondered about a few 'new' places to go, not too far (or too expensive) but with virtually guaranteed warmth and lots to do. The Canary Islands kept beckoning, but which one? Lanzarote was an island that I'd never visited and seemed to offer so much of the things I enjoy doing and after doing some research I found that Puerto del Carmen was ideally located for everything. OK, it is THE major resort but wow, what a place; so lad back, not crowded, great beaches, the promenade is long and flat - ideal for strolling, real walking, cycling etc. Having checked on-line for available holidays on my selected dates I found Thomas Cook's website and it didn't take long to choose the Apartmentos Acuario Sol for my self catering holiday. The Acuario Sol is situated just a couple of streets (only five minutes walk) back from the main promenade strip. The complex is split over two parts 1 and 11 (as in 1 and 2). My apartment was in 11 with a view of the swimming pool and close to the on-site bar / restaurant which was open from 8am every morning until late evening every day. The food there was very good and their full English breakfast was excellent value, oh, and the service? Simply fantastic. The apartment itself was great, spotlessly clean and well maintained several times during the week. And the staff were so good, very friendly and effortlessly efficient. If you like sight-seeing, Lanzarote has so many things to see. Excursions can be readily arranged there or pre-booked on-line via Thomas Cook here at home. I had already booked two trips in advance and another one while I was there. The coaches and the logistical organisation of the excursions was/were first class. As a lone traveller I found the whole holiday experience on the island was just fantastic. Going self-catering enabled me to use the apartment facilities as well as savouring the many local restaurants. The food was always good, freshly cooked and the service was nothing less than excellent. There were so many highlights to my week on Lanzarote but I will make mention of two particular excursions - the ones I had booked from here before travelling) the first being "The Grand Tour of the Island" - a full day of so many contrasts and experiences, and the second being a Hiking Tour in volcano country - out of this world and for me definitely THE biggest highlight of the holiday - if you're a keen walker / hiker then this is for you, be sure to take stout walking shoes! A third excursion - which I booked with the Thomas Cook representative during one of her regular visits to the apartments - was a most enjoyable first rate full day trip by ferry over to the neighbouring island of Fuertaventura. What I saw on that trip suggests Fuertaventura is a definite 'must go' for a future holiday. Would I go back to Lanzarote? Yes. Would I go back to Puerto del Carmen? Yes. Would I go back to the Acuario Sol Apartments? Yes - and can I have the same apartment please - #107? .

Overall holiday
These budget apartments are great value for money. Basic, but all you really need for a holiday. Very spacious and very clean. The location is great, five minute walk to a couple of small rocky beaches and all the shops and restaurants, and ten minute easy walk to the larger beaches. We were at acuario sol 2 which has the larger swimming pool . This is across the road from acuario sol 1 which has just a tiny pool. The pool was very well kept and had plenty of free sun loungers all the grounds plants etc were also kept neat and tidy. The pool has a bar and cafe which did very reasonable tasty meals and drinks. A full English breakfast for € 2.50 . The only negative think I can say is that the maid doesn't make the beds and only cleaned twice in the week we were there. This didn't bother us but I can see how some people wouldn't like it. Saying that, I did have to ask the maids on a couple of occasions for toilet rolls and bin liners and extra blankets and they were very obliging they were always about somewhere every morning .i paid for the weeks wifi as I had teenagers with me € 15 for the week, the connectivity was excellent. I had a third floor appartment so had a pool view and a great sea view too. I would recommend these apartments and would definitely use them again
