H10 Timanfaya Palace

H10 Timanfaya Palace is an adults-only haven on the south coast of Lanzarote. Stay here for its sweeping ocean views, luxe details and relaxing atmosphere. You’ll feel a sense of opulence the minute you walk through the doors, with Spanish and Arabic influences everywhere you turn.

You could while away an afternoon poolside on the plush Balinese beds, that’s when you're not practising your serve on the tennis courts (1 hour free for All Inclusive guests). Or wind down with sunset strolls along the white sands of Flamingo beach (150 m away). The magnificent lagoon pools are set within beautiful gardens, complete with parasols and an open-air whirlpool. Plus, one's heated in the cooler months!

Perfectly positioned for couples or friends seeking a peaceful environment, the hotel sits just outside the fishing village of Playa Blanca. You’ll find a few restaurants and shops within a minute’s walk from the hotel, while the main shopping area, Calle Limones, is a 20-minute walk away. Twice a week, you can also pick up a wealth of treasures from the Marina Rubicon Market (approx 15 minutes on foot), then grab a coffee waterside.

Back at base, you’ll find plenty to fill your day, from mini golf and archery to billiards and darts, boccia and chess, along with a games room. And if you’re keen to try scuba diving, you’ve got access to a fantastic PADI centre on site. When you want to turn it up a notch, head into the fully equipped fitness suite, take part in an aerobics class or stretch out on a yoga mat. That’s when you’re not unwinding in the luxurious spa, featuring a Turkish bath, sauna and menu of massages and treatments.

Feeling peckish? The main restaurant, La Bocaina, serves up a delicious range of international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with live cooking stations and a generous wine rack to fill your boots. Midnight snacks are available from 10pm to 6am.

All Inclusive guests can also book one included dinner at the exclusive a la carte, Kasbah. Here you can tuck into a fusion of Mediterranean and Arab cuisine, like fresh tabbouleh, curried prawns and corvina sea bass. Vegetarians have a wide variety of superb dishes to choose from, with vegetable lasagne and Spanish pisto on the menu. Late breakfast and lunches are also available at the poolside bar and restaurant, La Geria, from 12:30pm to 6pm. Want to indulge in fresh pastries, coffees, specialist teas, smoothies and milkshakes? Make a beeline for Mike’s Coffee.

For a cocktail with a side of live music, check out the elegant Tahiche Bar in the hotel lobby (open 5pm till 1am). Or boogie down at Montaña Roja Disco Bar, for live shows 8pm till midnight. Note that alcoholic drinks are included as per the All Inclusive package, but not available between midnight and 10 a.m.

When you’re ready to rest your head, you’ll find that the bedrooms at H10 Timanfaya Palace are as well-appointed as the rest of the hotel. Enjoy elegant rooms with a bathroom, air conditioning, satellite LCD TV, radio, safe, direct dial phone, hairdryer and balcony. Choose either a sea or pool view. If you can manage to tear yourself away from the luxuries of the hotel, you could rent a bike and cycle along the promenade to Playa Blanca town, along the coastal routes around the island, or even over to Dorada (3km) or Papagayo beach (9km).

For adventurers and avid scuba divers, the Museo Atlántico is only 5km away. This underwater museum is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nature lovers should head to Los Hervideros (10km) to see its labyrinth of cliffs and caves, or Timanfaya National Park (20km) for its volcanic landscapes and hiking routes. You’re also only 25km from the old town, harbour and clubs in Puerto del Carmen.
