Puerto Del Carmen
What’s the weather like in Puerto del Carmen in May?
Puerto del Carmen is a lovely beach resort on the south-east coast of Lanzarote. As part of the Canary Islands, which are nicknamed the ‘Islands of Eternal Spring’, Puerto del Carmen has a subtropical climate bringing great weather to the area all year round. Temperatures continue to rise in May with summer just around the corner. This is a great month to visit if you want to avoid the busy summer crowds, while still getting lots of warm and sunny weather.
The average temperature in Puerto del Carmen in May is 20ºC, with highs of 24ºC in the hottest part of the afternoon. Things stay quite pleasant after dark and with average lows of 16ºC, you shouldn’t need much more than a light jumper or cardigan for evenings out at the bars and restaurants. Just a couple of millimetres of rain’s predicted in May, so the risk of wet weather’s almost non-existent if you want to spend the day at the beach. You’ll have nine hours of sunshine each day to enjoy instead, while the Atlantic’s a comfortable 19ºC this month.
