Funchal is the capital city of Madeira, a beautiful Portuguese island in the Atlantic Ocean. The city has a Mediterranean-style climate, so the summer’s hot and dry while the winter can be mild and wet. In November, Funchal is still quite warm, but there’s also a high chance of rain showers, so you’ll need to take a waterproof jacket along with t-shirts and light layers, if you visit at this time of year.
