The island of Tenerife has so much to explore. But if you've seen as much as you can in and around your resort, then it's worth venturing a little further afield and visiting somewhere slightly off the beaten track. La Gomera is the ideal place to do just that and it is only a short boat ride away. It is the smallest of the seven main Canary Islands and is practically untouched compared to its neighbours. Take the ferry across from Los Cristianos and embark on a guided trek through the lush rainforest of the Garajonay National Park that covers most of the island. As well as the tropical rainforest, the sun-drenched island of La Gomera is also home to dramatic and stunning beaches such as the one at Puerto de Santiago. It is definitely well worth the boat ride over to visit whilst on holiday in Tenerife.
