What’s the weather like in Playa Blanca in May?
Playa Blanca is a sun-drenched beach resort on the south coast of Lanzarote. As part of the popular Canary Islands, it has a subtropical climate which brings warm weather to the resort all year round. In May, temperatures continue to steadily rise towards their summer peak, but the average temperature is still a touch cooler than the peak in August. If you don’t like being too hot when you go away, May is a great month to visit, well before the big crowds arrive.
The average temperature at this time of year’s 20ºC in Playa Blanca, reaching highs of 24ºC in the hottest part of the afternoon. It’s great beach weather if you don’t like it to be really hot, while evenings are pleasant too with the average low dipping to 17ºC after sunset. The resort only expects a couple of millimetres of rain in May, along with nine hours of daily sunshine. If you want to take a dip in the sea, the Atlantic waters are an inviting 19ºC this month.
