What’s the weather like in Puerto Rico in August?
Puerto Rico is a popular beach resort on the south-west coast of Gran Canaria. It has a subtropical climate bringing warm, sunny weather to the region all year round. Although the Canary Islands are nicknamed the ‘Islands of Eternal Spring’, it definitely feels like summer in August, since the days are long, dry and sunny. Temperatures are still comfortable, though, so Puerto Rico’s a great place to go on holiday if you don’t like intense heat or have young children to think of.
In August, the average temperature in Puerto Rico is 24ºC, reaching highs of 26ºC in the peak of the day. It’s the hottest month of the year for the resort, so you’ll want to bring lots of high factor sun cream and take care in the sunshine if you visit at this time. After the sun goes down, temperatures are still nice and warm, with an average low of 21ºC. Sunset’s not until nearly 9pm at the start of the month, perfect for an al fresco dinner or some cocktails with a view out to sea. If you want to take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean, the water’s a lovely 23ºC this month.
