There are so many good things about HSM LAGO PARK, not least the location, right in the resort centre, over the road from the beach. I've been to Playa de Muro many times, I like self catering, facilities close, getting out to eat at night and a flat walk. This was perfect for me.
We stayed in the new apartments, and thpugh there's a bar downstairs, a walkway with shops between them, there was little noise at night. The balcony overlooked the pool. This was the quiet pool, the other is busier, with music and in school holidays lots of action in the pool. Great to pop round there, it had an Ibiza chilled vibe with sofas away from the pool and tables ad chairs for snacks, drinks etc.
There are lifeguards on duty who are great with kids, giving them advice on swimming, being safe in the pool, and they rotate every hour - so never just sitting around. They are very attentive and check for H&S issues.
Apartments are equipped well. sofa bed was comfy once you got the hang of avoiding the bars at the side. Powerful shower, clean towels when needed and very polite and helpful cleaning staff. The beds were really comfy too - with built in wardrobes enough for the 4 of us with room. We did our own breakfasts and snacks during the day - there was more than enough equipment for that. You could cook a small meal if you wanted.
You can have the morning brunch, lunch, snacks, drinks - or not There is no hard sell, staff are so friendly and informative at reception. But all staff are great. I had the perfect holiday for me, quiet with dipping in to things when I wanted.
There is no evening entertainment - but you're right in the resort so its easy to get out and about. There is a crepes bar just outside the hotel, they do other food and drinks with music at night - a chilled experience.
We couldn't get our room for extra time - but we stayed round the pool, had use of the luggage room and shower - free of charge.

The end of July was very busy - and with the heat, the beach was packed, we didn't get a lounger on the days we went. Likewise the buses were busy and the cabs were difficult to get. The taxi rank (usually over the road) has temporarily moved - but it was easier to walk than phone one. There doesn't seem to be as many cabs in Muro - better at Alcudia strip and port though.
Jet 2 dropped us off on the main road which we weren't told when booking. ~We had to do same walk to be picked up. Difficult at night, crossing a busy road with some of the dropped kerbs not smooth.
