It's not just holidaymakers who enjoy the beautiful island of Madeira; the crystal clear waters attract a huge variety of fish, whales, dolphins and turtles too. The famous Moby Dick was filmed in the area in the 1950s, which just goes to show the amount of wondrous life that thrives there.

Take an afternoon to venture across the seas on a boat tour. Learn about the area from the passionate, qualified crew and relax as you sail across the soothing waves. A great time to explore the shimmering waters is in the summer months when the winds are softer.

If you're lucky you may be able to spot the different kinds of species of whale, like fin, sperm, humpback and beaked. Make sure you try and capture a photo of the graceful creatures as they jump and glide through the water.
