Enotel Lido – All Inclusive

This 5 star All Inclusive resort boasts a beachfront location, just 4km west of Funchal. The outdoor pool is heated, making Enotel Lido a great choice whatever month you choose to visit Madeira. The entertainment programme keeps both kids and adults entertained throughout the day. For those who seek tranquillity, there’s the spa with its sauna and Turkish bath. Not only are all your meals included, there’s a lot of flexibility about when you can take them. As well as the main breakfast service (from 7:30 to 11:30am), there’s an overnight self-service selection - perfect if you have an early flight or just fancy a snack in the middle of the night. In the evening you may choose to dine at one of the themed restaurants. Maybe you’ll opt for Madeiran fish and meat, alternatively you could go for Italian or pan-Asian. The best thing is no reservation is required for any restaurant, so you can be as spontaneous as you like. For a refreshing drink between meals choose from the poolside and lobby bars.

Standard rooms are a generous 28m2 and can accommodate a maximum of three guests, while the Family option includes two double beds. Both have a bath and shower, as well as air conditioning, WiFi and a balcony.

Enotel Lido is around 10 minutes’ drive from Funchal. It can also be reached using a local bus that stops close to the hotel. Within the island’s capital you'll find numerous museums on the Old Town's cobbled streets, including ones specialising in local history and sacred art. For something more modern, simply stroll around and admire the numerous examples of street art in the city. Being hundreds of miles from the mainland, Madeira is an excellent place for spotting whales and dolphins. A wide selection of safari boat tours depart from Funchal.

To admire the island’s natural beauty, drive 25km west to the scenic Levada do Moinho area. Here, you’ll find plenty of viewpoints, hiking trails and attractive waterfalls. You can even get a free environmentally friendly car wash, as the Cascata dos Anjos waterfall sprays across the main road – just remember to close your windows first!
