The Albatroz Hotel

“Save your money”

I stayed at the Albatroz for 3 nights and paid more than $700 per night. The location is beautiful but the service is terrible. On the first day, I mentioned to the staff that the light in my bathroom was burned out. This was never changed. Dirty glasses and towels were not removed during my stay. At the breakfast buffet, a coffee was brought in the first few minutes and then I did not see a waiter again, even though I sat for more than an hour each morning (there was no self service for coffee). When I asked to speak to a manager about these concerns, I was told that none was on duty and I should fill out the form in my room. I stayed at all five star properties while on a bike trip in Portugal and this one was just terrible, given what they are charging.

“Excellent breakfast and location.”

We stayed here for a week and had a lovely stay. The hotel and room was so cozy and clean. Very good breakfast with beutiful view. Location could not been bether. Only minus would be that the windows to the street and door out of the room was not very sound proof. We can highly recommend this hotel.

“A wonderful break”

Beautiful hotelin an amazing position overlooking the sea. Spacious bedroom, very clean with wonderful views from the balcony. Excellent service and great food in the restaurant.

“Great Location”

Amazing hotel with incredible view. My wife and I enjoyed 2 nights at the Albatroz and enjoyed the location and close walking distance to many great restaurant locations. Highly recommend.

“This hotel over promises and under delivers”

This hotel is no longer 5 star . We paid over €600 a night and were not made to feel welcome . I think the hotel is in some kind of crisis and it is reflected in the attitude of staff . It is like you are doing them a favour staying there . Our shower didn’t work, we had to use the hand held part if it . I burnt my hand as the temperature control is all over the place. The rooms are decorated beautifully, the views are stunning and the interior of the hotel is stylishly presented. However so many things are wrong . Breakfast was disappointing, we were never offered the a la carte option. The tea pot was cracked, the decanters that held the cereals were dirty and sticky. Sausages were undercooked, and the continental offering was pedestrian. This was not a €600 a night experience by any stretch of the imagination. There is a beach below at which young people gather and blast music at all times of the day and into the night. It is impossible to enjoy a peaceful rest by the pool. The toilets and shower below the pool area are dirty and unkempt. People come here for the promise of something special . I have travelled extensively and this is the most disappointing and over priced hotel experience I have ever had..
