Two adults spent 2 nights here as part of a bus tour and in general liked the hotel but there were some annoying deficiencies. We were in a suite with one king bed, so there was ample space to move about but only 2 accessible electric outlets (one under a desk) and no USB charging ports. The room was definitely showing some age with a slightly worn look and several things needing maintenance. The bed was comfortable. Our AC worked fine but several group members said theirs did not work at all. TVs on the wall and mini refrigerator--we did not use any. The small balcony looked out over the side parking area. Wi-Fi was fast but kept going up and down. No boxed tissues/Kleenex. Is this a new trend? Lighting was poor over the entire suite. The shower is a regular tub/shower unit that did the "standard' European leak onto the floor. No grab bars even though the tub is raised above the floor and it is very difficult to get out of the tub safely. Large excellent breakfast buffet. One lamp in the bed area was not working. Had to request it be fixed/replaced 2 times. A sofa was in the main area of the suite that was literally the most uncomfortable piece of furniture we have ever sat on. We had to request an electric kettle two times before it was delivered. There is a pool on the property which we didn't use. It is a 10 minute direct walk to the downtown Cascais area to many shops and restaurants. Ask at reception how to use the rear property gate to reduce several minutes of walking time to town. Watch out for the duck droppings all over the path to the gate. Note that you need your room key to unlock the gate both coming and going. Mine did not work trying to get back into the property. YMMV. Another maintenance issue was that the deadbolt did not work on the room door.
We stayed at Vila Gale for one night. The hotel room was ok although the bathroom really needed maintenance. There is no kettle in the room but you can ask the reception to bring one to your room. There is no gym at the hotel that we found surprising for the size of the hotel. TV was broken. We told reception but they were not interested much in resolving the issue. Breakfast was very good. Great selection. Good location.
After a month in Portugal, this is probably our least favorite hotel. The location is very good, the pool is very nice so outdoors is fine. Inside, the sun-baked rooms have inadequate and old AC so hot afternoon rooms can’t get cooled down. The rooms are an old box hotel set up. Nothing special. The “Restaurant” is sometimes ala carte but buffet in busy times. We asked at the desk on checkin about dinner and they made us a reservation implying it was a real restaurant but no mention of the Buffet. Breakfast was a madhouse with food running out regularly. This would seem to be a good option for a family but not for an older touring couple. While it is rated 4 Star it really is just a big box chain that might more realistically be a 3 star experience. We did visit a Vila Gale in Braga that was worthy of the rating but this hotel is disappointing for us. The front desk were quick but provided little information about the experience a d left it to us to figure out. The bar tender out back was helpful with an order but exuded stress. If other options are available do the comparisons.

Stayed here as a group of 16 lady golfers. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. A great location , with just a short walk to the marina and restaurants. Rooms were spacious, clean and the breakfasts excellent. Staff were very attentive and friendly.
