Just returned from a 14 night stay here. My overall opinion is, I don't understand all the negative comments on here. The hotel itself is modern, the rooms are great and very comfortable. We were given a room overlooking the nature reserve and it was lovely to see flamingos and other birdlife here. We had binoculars which helped.
Plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space but take extra hangers as there are only a few. We were on all inclusive, so two bottles of water provided in the fridge. They don't replace them but you can refill them at water points in the hotel or ask the staff. One thing about the rooms though, is the design of the toilet door, its etched glass but not entirely private if that bothers you. The bed was extremely comfortable though one of my pillows was a bit small. We had a couple of housekeeping issues, they didn't top up the tea and coffee (teabags you can get from the breakfast buffet) but coffee sachets you need to ask the housekeepers. Also found a dirty pillow case on the side one day, wanted bath towels changed- they only left one. Reception soon sorted the issue. The area around the drinks tray was never dusted the whole time we were there. I actually work as a housekeeper at a hotel so know how tough the job is, however, a bit more attention to detail makes all the difference.
Food was excellent, plenty of choice for everyone and drinks more than acceptable, cocktails are too sweet as from machine. Wine was good esp the rose. The Grill restaurant was ok but the Ria is much better, food was very good and waiter service too. Fabulous sunsets from the pool bar upstairs, which we used every night as the downstairs was very noisy. There were a lot of big groups who book this hotel and some could be very greedy with drinks so sometimes the bar was very busy but the staff coped well. Wine is in a bucket on the end of the bar downstairs so you can help yourself. You have to put your card on a reader to register your drinks but that's for stock control. If you forget on occasions, no probs, they just ask you to bring it next time round.
Overall, we had a lovely time but generally we prefer a quieter hotel or apartment, but if you like all inclusive, this place is very good.
ONE LAST THING... big thanks to all the reception, bar, restaurant and fitness staff, especially Daniela and all in the Flor restaurant, Prabhav and Elvio in the pool bar and the fabulous Bruniele and pool bar staff, they all put up with A LOT from us tourists, and if you treat them with respect you will get it back in spades. Well done all of you!
