“Perfectly fine, but rooms could be improved”
The hotel location was lovely. Nice and quiet, and a short walk to everything you would want to see in Valletta (for anyone with mobility issues though, this is not the city for you, regardless of hotel, as it’s extremely hilly with lots of steps)! Staff were friendly. The rooftop was nice. The complimentary cake at 4pm and wine at 6pm was also a nice touch. Decoration and use of original features was also nice. The room, however, was not of a great standard. The cheapest room (which is still fairly expensive) is the Deluxe. It is advertised as an “inner courtyard view”. It actually only has one internal window , which overlooks the corridor, which then overlooks the courtyard (which itself is only big enough for three small tables). There is no natural light. If you open the window, it doesn’t add much light and impacts your privacy significantly. (I’ve included a photo of the “view” from our window. You will see it is of the corridor and lift/elevator, not a courtyard). This means the room is not only dark, but badly ventilated. The extractor fan isn’t strong enough in the bathroom, so the room always felt humid/damp. There also seemed to be a plumbing issue in the bathroom -when the upstairs room flushed a toilet, the smell permeated our bathroom. Pillows could be improved (an a hypoallergenic option would be welcome). There was a huge double wardrobe, but only 5 hangers, no shelves or drawers. I would suggest some are put into the wardrobe, as there is plenty of room in there. (I was given more hangers when I asked, but some shelves/drawers would be a better use of space). Overall, a pleasant stay, but if booking here I wouldn’t recommend the Deluxe room.

“Lovely hotel, great stay, beautiful country!”
We stayed in 19 Rooms Valletta for three nights and it was great! When we got there we were informed we had a free upgrade to our room, which was lovely. The room was huge, with a massive bathroom and walk in shower. In the room, we had plenty of hanging space, along with everything else you’d want. We had a great balcony which you could see the street and sea from, along with another enclosed balcony, which was brilliant, especially as we weren’t blessed with the greatest weather in March! This meant we could still enjoy the scenery but not get wet and it felt like we were sat on a balcony still! Breakfast was fine, everything you’d expect from a continental and meant you could fill up for the day. There was also free wine and cake in the afternoon, a nice touch. Hotel staff were very helpful and gave lots of advice on trips and how to get to Gozo etc. Hotel was perfectly located, about 15 minutes to get to the city centre and close to everything you’d want. All in all, a great place to stay and we would definitely recommend if you were visiting!

“Ideal hotel for a city break”
Great location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, free coffee and cakes in the afternoon, and free wine in the early evening. We stayed in the duplex which was very nice, but a bit dark as only the upstaires bedroom had a window.

“Nice room and lovely extra touches.”
The room was beautifully quiet the first two nights. The bed was huge and very comfortable and heating worked well. However, the bathroom - whilst probably perfect in summer - was cold and we had to ask for a towel change every day as it was impossible to get them dry. The website says rooms are soundproofed - one of the things that appealed - however, when guests arrived nextdoor on our last night, we could hear every word they said and their television! Extra touches like free homemade cake, coffee and local wine were very much appreciated.

“Lovely accommodation in a great location.”
This is very good accommodation with friendly, helpful staff. We were in the Duplex Suite to the left of the main entrance. It is on two levels (stairs only) and quite spacious, except for the bathroom/toilet which is very tight for space. We did find ourselves going up and down the stairs frequently between the lower kitchen/sitting room and the upper bedroom/bathroom. The bed was quite comfortable and it was nice having a Maltese balcony off the bedroom to watch the world going by outside. The kitchen had fairly minimal cooking equipment, but we managed to prepare basic meals with it. There was occasionally some intrusive outside noise and also sometimes a smell of sewage, but apparently the latter is a feature of Valletta when the wind blows from the wrong direction. The breakfast spread was very good in pleasant surroundings. The location is excellent being outside the main busy tourist precinct, but close enough to walk there in a few minutes, also close to the harbourside.
